If your computer has wifi then you should be able to find a program that will take most files eg. music files, video files etc. and transmit them to the PS3. You should then be able to find this program from the XMB under Music/Videos with the "Search for Media Servers" Saw my friend watch family guy episodes on his HD tv using this. Can't remember what program he used though. You should be able to find it with a quick search on Google. GL though.

Basically to switch to YD, you go to settings -> system settings -> default Os -> OtherOS and YD opens up. To switch back to XMB, theres a small blue button in the upper left, srry I dont know exacly what it is since im still getting used to a linux browser, and select applications -> Boot Game OS and the XMB will load up. If the controller wont connect you'll have to restart the PS3 system and connect the controller through the recharger cable.

Right... Now I've managed to install Yellow Dog onto my PS3, and although there's many topics and videos on how to install YD, I haven't been able to find anything that would manage to tell me how to install programs and such (like games :P) from a CD or DVD, ONTO Yellow Dog. I was wondring if anyone out here knew how to do this, or if it is even possible.

Well, if you think about it, a lot of the games that try to experiment with new ideas and new styles are not American produced. Corporate America's got a problem with the R&D department that most other countries do not have. The major policy with US R&D Departments is that it's got a big D department and a small R department. Quite a lot of the new technology is upgrades of the older versions, simply sleeker and more economical versions. American companies are simply unwilling to find a different way of doing the same thing, it might be better another way, but to the big business owners, it's not worth the trouble of actually spending time and money researching it.

Just take a look at the progression of the DVD. We started with the floppy disc, by creating a disc in which we could "etch" data onto it, and seal it in a protective plastic cover. Then we moved on to the CD where now we could store more data onto a different sort of disc, but essentially the same principle of etching data onto material, which a computer or other sort of hardware could read. Soon, digital came, and we got the DVD, and once again, it allowed even more data to be packed upon a disc. Lastly, we have, the now defunct, HD DVD. America only produced new technology based on old "proven" technology, believing that it could ill afford to "take the risk.

It is a problem that a lot of American companies simply don't take risks and only follows the path that has been paved for them long ago. Fred Gallagher wrote in his ongoing Megatokyo, that one should "make changes based on your strongest options. Not your most convenient ones." Sadly this is a rut many companies have fallen into.

Though I have my doubts with certain game producers and designers, I still find the odd jewel of creativity to be found. I enjoyed Oblivion, Fallout 3, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, Black, R:FoM, the MGS series, and I'm enjoying Valkyria Chronicles, and many others I just don't remember at hand. I also hold high hopes for the new Prince of Persia, though I was never interested much into the PoP games before.

I've got the game (for PS3 obviously) but I haven't seen a single glitch. Sound, graphic or data related. I've explored at least 3/4ths of the map by 'bout now, but haven't seen/heard of a single glitch.

Truthfully, I doubt its anywhere near as bad as GS portrays the PS3 version to be, my copy works just fine, and I even brought it over to two of my friends' houses, so I know it still works on a HD TV and even on the TV/Computer Monitors.

I haven't heard about SOCOM and I've been following Haze pretty much thoughout the trailers. So my vote goes for Haze.

This is kinda why I think that EA somehow manages to fsk up a lot of games they get their hands on, including the BF series. I've lost a lot of hope on them and I think this might be the final staw.

Motorstorm. It became too much of going for perfection, and it doesn't even support non-internet multiplayer. My friends can't just come over and we can all play the game. Jeez, who ever heard of a racer that doesn't support 1-4 players w/o the internet. I got it free with the PS3 so I don't really mind, at least I didn't *really* pay for it, I got R:FOM with the same deal so *shrugs*.

I'm pretty much in the same dire straits as you are. After reading though the story of all the previous games, not just the Metal Gear Solids, but the previous incarnation Metal Gear. To be more precise, there were the Metal Gear series, and then the Metal Gear Solid series.

The storyline is VERY complicated, and if you really want to try to understand it, go to wikipedia.org it might help, or not considering the depth of the stories involved. Just know theres a LOT of backstabbing and double-crossing, and false identities and/or motives.

Personally, I can't wait to get MGS4, the gameplay just looks too good to pass up.
