Im going to ask you a similar question: What feature(s) of Windows Vista were you planning to use, that you bought it for your PC?

You might be able to see where im going with this. If you can't answer the question, then i dont see much of a reason for getting a Mac laptop or Vista.

Well I wanted a laptop for class because it will be alot easyer to take notes. It will mostly be for school, i just want to know if I can play games too, like Civ4. I got Vista for my desktop at home, because I thought it would be better then XP because I really liked XP, I was very wrong.

Vista puts xp to shame. You have encouterred compatibility issues with peripherals, nothing more. Vista is more responsive, has a more performant and stable interface, comes with WMP11, Media Center, Windows Live... it supports DX10, you have a 100x more powerfull search function, soon vista will have 3d desktop effectsfor icons and windows, give vista 6 months andyou will start to see fckin incredible mods.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Wait, that was sarcasm, right?

I got a friend who had the 'opportunity' to try out Vista. Just getting Diablo II to work was a hassle. Doable, but WTF? The OS ****s a brick when you try to do anything.

-OMG you put in a CD do u want me to run it?!

-Um, yeah, that sounds good.

-OK! OMG This software came out in '99 I don't know what to do!!!

-.... *puts barrel to the temple*

And in return, what do you get? A 3d version of Alt-tab. Thanks microsoft. You know, I was thinking maybe some more software and hardware compatibility would be nice, or maybe a few less glaring security holes in IE, but you know, come to think of it, this is really what I needed.

hey kid. new to computers? update drivers, right click D2, set compatibility as XP2!

I have installed over 40 games on Vista, I made them all running in 5 minutes MAX (after install). Your school yard buddy should be speaking to me. If you haven't tried anything regarding vista by yourself you're just talking absolute BS and should get a spanking. A **** brick? XP freezes when you try to do anything with it'S cpu dependant interface! It locks up and looses performance because memory dumping is SUCKAGE after 24 hours of running. IE blocks everything now (so much I'm starting to hate it as a part time web designer) get lost before I get technical you little twit.

Never said XP was awesome, I just don't see Vista as a significant improvement. I was there while he was getting it to work and I've done a few basic file transfers and web surfing and a couple other things with it and I'm not really seeing any improvement besides eye candy for the tards who think Halo is the best game evar.

My XP laptop runs for days without crashing or even getting that slow, so I dunno what the **** you're talking about. Lack of built-in DOS support is a pisser though.

The ridiculous thing is, this really isn't stopping any of the pirates. Slowing them down a little maybe, but not stopping them. If anything, there's probably a lot of people that are going to torrent the game instead because they don't like SecurRom on their computers. I know I'm not going to buy it knowing that it's going to install a bunch of crap on my lappy.

Honestly, were CD keys so bad? Just hard enough to piss off the munchkins, but you weren't completely screwed if you lost your key or wanted to reinstall. Not to mention it didn't **** around with your hardware the way some of this DRM crap does.

[QUOTE="Dogswithguns"]He needs to be put in a rehab for life. or should I say to death.PcGamer2020

I don't know about that dogswithguns. All Jack Thompson is doing is relfecting his opinions and views, and that's what freedom is about. You don't put someone into death or rehab just because they act like idiots or insane people.:o

You're right, he needs to go to an institution and then take a couple years of remedial classes at a community college. The guy has serious issues, and beyond that, he seems to be really lacking in the critical thinking and persuasive speech department (which is REALLY ODD considering he's supposed to be a lawyer, albeit a nearly disbarred one).

Everyone keeps talking about Fallout 3 like it's going to be an FPS... Should be at least 20 hours, regardless.

And in case you haven't noticed the avatar, Deus Ex. I guess you could beat it in 12-15, but I tend to take longer, sneaking around and screwing with the AI.
