@JigglyWiggly_: It's pointless fighting with someone who has no idea have cpu's work. Most of you frames will be coming from your gpu. For example 970 with a haswell and then a 970 with a related skylake will only give you a 1-5fps difference at best. You make skylake out to be some magical hardware. Go watch some tests with csgo and enlighten yourself. Saying that a skylake will give you a 10% fps increase is the most uneducated thing I have ever heard.

@JigglyWiggly_: 300 fps is useless. You don't need over 240fps for one because that is the highest some monitors can actually display. Those are people with a fucking Titan X. This guy wants a gtx 970. So doubt hes going to go out and buy a display that is more then his gpu. So now we are talking more 60fps range. Also skylake does not give a 100fps boost, You clearly know jack shit about cpu's. Go watch so real life tests done. Skylake gives an fps boost of like 5. Also of coarse your going to see a huge difference between a sandybrige and skylake. Still skylake will give you a fps boost around 5 compared to haswell. Right now the only perk in skylake is if you want the newest product available. Please stop telling someone who wants to play CSGO to waste their money on skylake.

@JigglyWiggly_: why would you recommend skylake? It's not worth the little performance gain per dollar. OP should go for a budget i5 for csgo like an i5 4460. Hell csgo runs amazing on i3, but lacks in most newer triple a games.

@bradleylawrence: I would wait for the new gpu's that are coming out later this year. Nvidia might be getting a summer release and AMD being around the fall. You'd be getting a way better gpu.

How old are you? I mean if your 17 or older then they really shouldn't be touching your stuff but if your younger then that's a different story.

@jateed: Honestly if your going to upgrade your cpu later I would just wait till you can get a decent i5 or even an i7.
