This isn't so much about gaming, but more of a music rant. Why has house music fallen out of public earshot? I'm not talking about the **** tech-house they play now in most clubs that draws too heavily on an 8-bit synthesizer. I'm talking about the down and dirty, funk-dipped, flying buttresses of disco influenced house. Nobody can deny a bassline composed of notes that were designed by nature to cause movement in vertebrate organisms. It just seems so obvious to me. I guess that's my problem.
On another more pertinent note: Street Fighter Alpha Anthology is that thing in my life that I hate, yet love most at the same time.Its hard as hell, but playing it is its own reward. I look forward to getting my ass kicked by my SFA fan aquaintences, and me crying about it. cheers.

Next Gen: Pretty is Pretty

not gonna lie. This E3 stuff looks cool. Even for the 360. What bugs me though, is how well all of this expected jingly hi-res stuff is actually going to function real-time. Are we going to lose key focuses on gameplay fun and quality functionality? I think yes and no.
What triggered this is all of the "Gears of War" footage i've been seeing. I've been excited by the look (from still images) and concept of this thing for a while, dancing and tenderly flirting with the idea of picking up a 360. However, reason takes over and i realize that Microsoft will never convert me into part of their shifty business patterns....until windows Vista comes out. In any case, seeing the video from Gears of War is making me entirely less enthusiastic about the game. Ya, the design seems awesome and the hi-def lighting is cool, but if its gonna shake like that, I might as well skip it and continue to try and run GRAW on my current Ghetto-rig.
PS3 is also looking tempting to me. too high priced though? we'll have to see. The games would have to be pretty damn compelling for me to pick up another machine thats double (!) or MORE than what i payed for my last console, nay, for my last set of PC upgrades!
Wii seems to be the future, so i'll just have to look forward to wii-ing my pants in anticipation for that. Wii. It seems more like something i'll be using to punctuate my sentances than a console title wii. But i dream of it nontheless, "death-stick" controller set up and everything. (btw god bless the feature in twilight princess that puts a sound sample of a bow string 'twang'-ing emanating from a controller mounted speaker when you release an arrow. BLESS IT I SAY!.... wii)
