@freddybarry: I was merely talking about Xbox One only, not just Xbox 360 and no one is not going to denied that Xbox 360 sold $1 millions units in Japan and it's the only Xbox console to ever sold that many units. Xbox 360 was a one hit wonder.

This post seems out of context.

@Legend002: No, you said that they can add replacements to sales, and then also said that the Xbox 360's failure rate was around 50% which immediately contradicts what you said after that they would allow it at 3-5% or so. Why would you think that if (it didnt) the Xbox 360 had 50% of consoles fail, why would you think they could get away with inflating sales by the millions?

They can? They do. Generally, it's 3-5% for most electronic but that's not the case for 360. The 80 million sold on Xbox is heavily inflated because of RROD fiasco. Which is why the revenue from the console itself is rather low.

That's because the division had to pay for it. If the revenue was so damn low how did they crawl out the read and into the black around 2008?

We have no evidence whether the RRoD had any real impact, and considering the majority of the Xbox 360 sales were when that problem was already heading to the void, and that the Xbox 360 in the period where RRoD was most rampant the XBox 360 didn't even sell through 8 million, that makes the number NOT add up even more.

Where are you getting this theory that rrod was like 20 million of the sales which you seem to be claiming? You have no basis for this. I could YLOD for the PS3 gave it 10 million sales but there's nothing to base that on.

@tormentos: Nintendo still don't charge for online so Sony didn't have to copy Microsoft. Cows were all over system wars celebrating free online play. Fast forward a few years and they are happy to pay for it.

Who would want to pay for Nintendos online?

Also this conversation is pointless, this could or could not be a similar mistake with the PS4k to MS's REVEAL (not E3) in 2013. But while it seems that way on the surface we don't know.

I'm sorry? The Xbox E3 conference was arguably better than Sonys are people getting the reveal and E3 mixed up again?

Be interesting to see if this was a system seller.

Possibly but I think it would likely do that more so in the U.S. then the UK considering the gameplay and the interesting deals on the bundles...

@indzman:

Compete in what? WW Sales? no

Metacritic? Not likely.

Interest? Nope.

Sales in japan? Yeah I guess it can win that one.

@terminalyinsane: It does if the other machine runs games better than the older one, yes.

You either have to put up with second class games and the phasing out of games from retail for the PS4k, or buy a 4K Tv, a good one, with a good size, good cables, and then buy the PS4k. Also if you like VR buy that as well.

Sounds like a sales gamble.

So good that people are still making threads 1 year later.

So I guess the reveal of Killer Instinct in 2013 Xbox One is the best conference? because a lot of those threads are up across multiple gaming websites. Odd way to determine quality.

Now how about a serious discussion?
