Metal in Australia doesn't have much of an impact on the global stage. Yes, there are a few bands that achieve great success and are well know, but there's plenty of undergroud bands who don't get the recognition they deserve. Most metal comes from North America and Europe, primarily Scandinavia, so I'm going to list some of my favourite Australian Metal bands and hope that those interested will check those that they know nothing about out.

If Death or Black metal isn't your stuff, you might want to stay away from the majority of this stuff :P Armoured Angel, Mortal Sin, Lord, Dungeon and Alchemist are better suited to those with regular Heavy Metal/Thrash Metal tastes.
