The American Dark Psycho Knight. Pt 1.

This is a dual movie review blog concerning The Dark Knight and American Psycho, which I both saw today (AP was a rewatch). Lets start with the 'ZOMG MOTY SECOND COMING OF JEEEEZUS!', The Dark Knight.

I was not as hyped for this movie as most people were, to me it was just another movie that looked great and I wanted to see. And it was. BUT it was not the aforementioned second coming of Jesus that everyone makes it out to be. It was a good movie. Thats all. I enjoyed it, I thought it was worth my money, but it ends there. It will never make it into my top 10, 20 or even 30 movies of all time (maybe 40's).

Now, Heath Ledger (RIP) was great as The Joker, but really I didnt expect anything else from Heath seeing as he was just a great actor, so no real surprise there. As much as I love Christian Bale in any role (such as American Psycho), his gravelly Batman voice irritated the absolute **** out of me. I literally could not make out 1/4 of the stuff he said. For me, the best performance should go to Aaron Eckhart for his performance as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. His change from the calm DA Harvey Dent to the twisted vigilante Two-Face was great, and frankly I was sad that it ended abruptley
Heres hoping he lives
The start was great, it really just went right in and in a movie like this you need to. The ending was okay, felt a bit... I dunno... repetitious I guess (might not be the right word though) but there was just something about it, and the ending was just meh. The final battle with The Joker and the situation with the boats was full of suspense, but was anti climactic and I felt it was trying to push forward a moral message about the common man or something. I dunno, might just be me. However I did enjoy the last scene that Joker is shown explaining how he and Batman need each other and will be battling for ages to come (one of the underlying themes being Bruce's continuance as Batman or something like that). I did notice some continuity errors, but no one is perfect, not even the great Stanley Kubrick (RIP).

Overral, it was a good movie to watch although I had to watch the first half hour twice because some tosspot as my friend put it had to go and complain because he came in late. We had to rewatch 20 minutes of previews and then the first 30 minutes.

Anyway, using a 5 star (*****) system, I will rate this **** (4 stars for those of you too lazy to count)
