I bought MvC3 when it came out, thinking it would be an insane button mash-fest like I remember MvC2 was in the arcades ages ago. It most definitely was not. It's way more calculated and input sensitive. Sure, at elite levels it's probably similar, but at the beginner level it definitely feels different. And yeah, the training mode was essentially entirely unhelpful. I couldn't even do the combos in the training - and when I actually fought I never felt like I knew when to try to pull out one of those combos. Nice article.
