There is a fundamental issue with the arguments on this post. You have several people that are arguing which console is "better". Better is such a subjective term that it be constituted in so many different ways. When it comes to the PS4, yes, the hardware can handle 1080p better than the Xbox One can. Xbox One took the RISK and the BET that 1080p is not going to be the deciding factor on this console. They took the BET that multiplayer seamless play is going to be the deciding factor. There is so much more POTENTIAL in the cloud when it comes to developing games. IE Making the AI more adaptable to our gameplay, algorithms that we can't even begin to comprehend, and a cheaper solution for developers so they can focus on the game rather than, "OMG we have to spend how much for servers?!?!"
Personally, I have an Xbox One and I'm taking the bet that I will enjoy their games and also the multi function applications much more than I would a PS4 that really cannot multitask (Today). I've played the PS4 and cross platforms are not that different at all (I own a Samsung Smart 3D TV). The only difference I noticed was the online gameplay which favors the X1. I will say however that I would be curious to see a full 1080p 60FPS game on the PS4 on my TV, because I can appreciate the fine graphics, but is that a deciding factor for buying a console for ME? No.
I can also say that PS4 could not handle what Titanfall is doing from a seamless smooth perspective ONLINE at a 1080p 60 fps standard, it would not run as smooth as it would with lets say a 720p/900p level. PS4's cloud really focuses on the Streaming of old and current games on multiple devices, which is great, however I don't see myself playing a Titanfall type game on a Vita, I'd rather play my games on my nice TV.
And another important statement. When are we going to start receiving games that give you that uncertainty feeling when you pick up the controller and you turn it on for the first time? I miss the feeling of playing a game for the first time and you can't put the controller down for hours, only having to go to sleep wondering what is going to happen next in the game. I never get that feeling anymore with most games and it's frustrating. I believe that developers need to be focusing on that than pushing a higher end graphic for the same ole game set up.
