You know, it doesn't surprise me (initially); most console gamers (the target market of CoD Modern Warfare/Black ops series) are those under the age of 18, which creates this issue with consoles and communication.
However - If you are a console gamer and you're 18+; I appreciate your presence, I just hope you CAN spell and are not like those lowbie 12 year olds who have self-esteem issues and have to take it out on others verbally.
I would assume that the PC version of CoD fares slightly better (due to higher age range of the average pc user).
In regards to community though, many are pretty bleak looking (especially in free-to-play games such as LoL), there are the occasional amazing people; but majority of the time it takes only one puberty rager to join and your hope for this planet dies.
Favorite community for me would be - The Starcraft community majority of the Starcraft players are mature and courteous (with rare few exceptions, as comes with every community).
P.S. Come to think of it, I've never heard anyone give death threats to the developers of a game... Comes as quite a surprise to be honest... Why would you even do that? Those people worked hard for a year (how long an average cod game takes to be developed) just to bring you a game, and you just spit on their plates... that's nice.
