I've had my PS3 slim for about 2 or 3 weeks now. The past couple of days, I've turned it on, the XMB starts to load and nothing would happen. I'd get the swirly arrows under the Playstation Network, and they'd just keep loading, never going anywhere. Then if I scrolled over to settings and tried to click on anything, it would freeze, then the screen would go black. Also, if I tried turning the system off from the controller while this was happening, the screen would go black and and beep a couple times, but wouldn't turn off.

I'm probably going to have to send it in, but can't find my freaking receipt.

Has anyone else run into this problem? I haven't found any problems like this.

I just bought it last week, and don't really have a desire to keep playing as of right now. I've just been running through it shooting everyone.
Seems I can't go buy game reviews anymore.

I just know how in-depth the story is, and I don't want to play 10 hours of a game and have no idea what just happened.

Should I buy MGS4 if I haven't played MGS1-3 in a long time and remember very little about them? Also, I don't have them anymore to replay...

I would also like to get MGS4, but its been a while since I played the old games. Do I need to buy the old games and take a refresher course before I play? Or can i just jump right in?

Its the American 60 GB. And when I googled the problem I got this ...http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3&message.id=927030.
Looks like using composite cables can help, but I would rather just use my HDMI? Mainly because I don't even know where my composite cables are.

I just bought Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) and I'm trying to play it on my PS3 (60GB), and the sound went in and out and now there's no sound whatsoever. Also a white light flashes on the screen about every 5-7 seconds. Has anyone had this problem/ know how to fix it?
I should add that there has been no problems with playing PS3 games.

Is anyone else still having online troubles? I either get into multiplayer games and no one is there, or there will be 1 or 2 other people and I'll be disconnected seconds later. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

Yeah do with these guys said. I just ordered my 6' cable from monoprice.com and came out to less than 10 bucks including S&H. Don't bother with the Monster Cables. For the most part Monster is a rip-off.
