I've decided that I can at least manage to gather my thoughts on games and try to write brief reviews. The idea is to write about one a week, on any game in my collection, limit 300 words. They WON'T be at all timely: I don't buy or play games very fast. Hopefully they should be a little useful. Ideally.

A started post! About... Nothing?

"There was a post here. It's gone now." That was my too-cliché original title for this post. I'm not sure where this is headed without that line, but all the same. I shall endeavor to persevere.
I suppose a quick introduction is really in order. HI. I'm Dez. I like games. ^_^
To brief? Alright. I use the name "gallygirl" because it's my deviantart user name. Hint. HINT. I got the name from a friend(Oniresurrect) who thought he could get into my pants if he compared me to interesting fictional characters. Lucky for him it worked, but I suppose after living with me for seven years he might have slight regrets(I can't cook, it's like a curse).
I'm not too much of a writer of blogs. Well. PUBLIC blogs. I'm a compiler of facts and tidbits. For the 2% of the population familiar with John Brunners's "Stand on Zanzibar," I like to think of myself as an analyst; the rest of you can call me a "library of the obscure", or a nerd.
The problem, for there always is a problem, isn't there? The problem IS that I dislike other people, or rather other people who are jerks. As gaming becomes increasingly more internet active and reliant on multi-player gaming as a solid part of their experience, I become more and more disenchanted with all you people. There's an inverse relationship between the degree of anonymity offered by the internet and the civility with which people act. Read more at www.msu.edu/user/trescami/thesis.htm or any of the related sites you'll get if you keep eyes open. And gaming, sadly, is rather anonymous and thus rather full of jerks.
So, in the modern world of gaming, I find myself at a slight loss. On the one hand I could avoid online game situations, however many games have little content beyond online multiplayer(and I bought the bloody Orange Box because I thought it was three games I could play; I want all THREE). On the other hand I could buck up and deal with the ignorant and annoying anonymous masses. But a third option deserves further consideration, and I propose this; finding friends in online gaming who's lack of anonymity will preclude any less-then-admirable behavior. Hence my newfound activity on a gaming website!
And there you have it. A post about nothing. Hope you enjoyed!
