Yeah I had the same issue, I got my PS3 this past January and MAG was the first game I wanted to try, I liked it, I rocked it!... but I suffered from the lock-ups too, especially on the bigger battles like Domination and stuff.
The Mario/Duck Hunt combo that came with my NES Xmas '87, first game ever rented, Excitebike! I miss those days. =(
