Xenoblade Chronicles was my favorite rpg last gen. Man, I just don't know if want to spend $300+ dollars to play this game. Cause there is nothing else I would play on Wii U.
The NX would be launching in a highly competitive market in 2016. The PS4 and XONE are already at $350. With milllions in userbase, games, and established brand recognition. And that's just the home console market. NX have to come out aggressive from the start. In terms of hardware capability, launch games, third party support, online gaming, marketing, AND price tag.
I'm a bit skeptical of them being able to do all that and still remain competitively priced with the PS4 and XONE. Besides, when was the last time Nintendo was aggressive at anything?
Wasn't this the reboot of Sonic? The only IP Sega has worth anything now is Virtua Fighter and they have let that IP fall into obscurity due to their near non existent marketing and support for it. Good grief Sega, not sure whats it gonna take for you to wake up and become more dedicated to your games. You are losing your old fans and certainly not bringing in new ones.
So Destiny is medicore, fair at best. What does it matter? The main people griping about this on gamespot, metacritic, and other game forums already gave Activision their $60 bucks. You are not going to affect Activision's bottom line, negatively that is.The game still sold millions. The game is a financial "success".
The beta was bland, I don't see how most people thought it would change dramatically from that in a month. The game will most likely improve but at the cost of DLC.Hype sells. On a side note I found it no coincidence that gaming sites didnt post a review of destiny a week or at least a few days before its release date, at least that would have helped a lot of gamers make an informed decision. But we can't have negative reviews impacting sales of the game before its release can we Activision? There's 500 million at stake here.
Moral of the story? Hype sells, and gamers will buy into it every time.
