I'm sure it was during some boring section like scanning planets in Mass Effect 2, action sections would have kept me alert. I didn't heed my own warning to save, pause and get the hell up.

The next thing I knew , my arm was hurting and that's what awakened me.

I have to deal with the consequences but wanted to warn you'all to avoid a similar fate

It was wrong for me to assume others had nodded off in front of their pc's. I really wanted to avoid all the "me too's" that I thought might follow.

My sole reason for posting is to alert fellow gamers of what can happen and how it can devastate your functioning.

I do push myself too far. Spent 18 hours straight with Deus Ex and game from morn to morn. I'm a completionist and and some would say obsessed.

Since my wife died, this is the perfect escape for me. Oh, and by the way, I'm 74 years old so I'll take all the good advice many have offered.

I got through 3/4's of the game with that arrow aim and saw others suggest a controller. What a difference that makes! I got a Logitec controller and have played that game and its add-ons 15 times! Try it and see.

Most of us have fallen asleep at our pc's but I did a doozy!

I was fighting sleep and woke up with my arm across the back of my chair and had that severe sensation of my left arm being asleep.

Managed to stumble to bed but woke up with my left wrist and fingers paralyzed! A condition call "wrist drop." It can take weeks or months to heal.

That's a horror for kb/mouse playing. I set up a MS 5 button mouse to do most of my game's (Mass Effect 2) actions with an occasional stab on the keyboard with my one useful finger on my left hand.

You'all be careful and don't do as I did.
