The New Year.

360 game list now includes: Kameo, COD2, PGR3, Madden 2006, and Dead or Alive 4. Kameo was really entertaining the first time through, and then trying to crack some high scores afterwards, but it's long-term replay value it nil, so I'll probably be trading it in shortly. COD2 felt like a port, but was still awesome enough to hang around. PGR3 was the only game that really felt next-gen to me. But I'm not a huge fan of realistic racers. Madden is definitely eye candy, but I saw in other reviews where everyone said it felt unfinished and I definitely agree. It's nice, and the only football option at the moment, but I can't wait until NCAA 2007... Dead Or Alive 4 is probably the second game that feels next-gen to me. I'm not a twitchy player, so these kind of games are pretty difficult for me, and have gotten frustrated a few times at the difficulty. But it's definitely great to look at. There are several more games that I'll probably be picking up at the end of this month when they come out.. but we'll talk about those later. Also, picked up Silent Hunter 3 for the PC.. I can definitely see where this is for a patient, older audience... but have found it pretty interesting and enjoyable. AND, have been in the Auto Assaunt Beta... if they can solve some latency issues, and ensure that it will be immersive.. I think it might be the next MMORPG hit..

The 360.

Well, as I mentioned earlier. I had preordered my 360 back in July. Didn't make first shipment.. so I've taken 'measures'. I bought a premium system off of ebay this week for $800. Arrived next day, no defects. Why would I pay $800? I really wanted one, but I'm not that hardcore. I figure mine will get here via EBGames before christmas. And microsoft has said they doubt they'll fill demand for everyone before the end of the year.. so I should still have no problem reselling my 360 when it gets here to make up that difference. Went out and bought an extra controller, Kameo, Call of Duty 2, and Project Gotham Racing 3. First off, the 360 is a fantastic piece of hardware. Have had no problems with it thus far. The graphics are amazing.. the features are amazing. I have been 110% satisfied thus far with my purchase. Kameo is a neat little game. Reminds me of zelda a bit. But the graphics, and use of the charachters was pretty nifty. If it was longer, and a little more open-ended.. It would have been perfect. Very good otherwise. PGR3 is your standard realist racing game. Not really my cup of tea.. but the graphics are gorgeous, the multipler is top-notch... and it's overall not a bad title. But probably the one I've been playing the least. Call of Duty 2 is probably THE WW2 shooter. Looks good for a port, immersive, and good multiplayer. Sooo.. anyway.. DOA4 comes out in a few weeks and I'll be picking that up.. and can't wait until the next generation of games comes out around March... they'll use the full power of the 360.

360 Update.. Civ IV

Was dissapointed to see my 360 VGA cable go on backorder from EBGames. So will be stuck playing my 360 on my regular TV on launch day. I have a HDTV on order from Dell, but it won't arrive until the first week of December. So I'll probably cancel the order if it doesn't ship before launch day. Was also dissapointed that two launch titles a few months ago, DOA4 and Oblivion are both delayed. Leaving me with on PGR3 on launch day. I'll probably pick up somehting else then.. maybe Madden.. to give me some variety. Also to help pass the time, I picked up a copy of Civilization IV. Ya know, it's nice... but after a few games.. they all start feeling identical. Maybe it's just me, but I got bored and quit playing it after three days. Too bad I can't get my $50 back. Oh well.

Xbox 360 VGA cable

Found the Xbox 360 VGA cable on EBgames the other day. Why didn't someone think of this sooner? I'll be able to hook my 360 up to my 19" monitor for HDTV, and saves me (at least temporarily) from having to go out and spend 2k on a new HDTV television. Smart thinking on someone's part. Too bad I won't get to enjoy it for another month however. Was also looking at PC games.. seeing if anything even remotely interesting was coming on the horizon, but nope. I beginning to get worried about games on my favorite platform.. the PC.

The long march....

This is my first blog post here on gamespot. But the topic is about having to wait another month and a week for the Xbox 360. Anticipation is a **** I'm bored out of my skull... having to save all my money to purchase that system, letting some otherwise perfectly entertaining games sit on the shelf that I could be playing in the meantime. Well, I reactivated my EVE-online account to help me pass the time. It's amazing how you miss some experiences... remember all of the good parts. Then once you're back, you quickly remember why you left in the first place. I almost reactivated City Of Heroes... gave them my credit card and everything, only to cancel not 15 minutes later.. even before I got back into the game.. when I remembered how un-solo-friendly it was. Nov 22nd my debt hole grows even deeper... hope it's worth it.
