Welcome to the new Era of Nintendo Switch 2!

Haz! It's gbrading! I haven't seen you in years and years! We were both GameSpot Mods many years ago now, I hope you remember. I hope you're doing well! :)

I'm a PC gamer mostly so there's very few games I buy physically these days. I think the last PC game I bought on disc was Quantum Break. I have bought a couple of PS4 games but I don't own a PS5 or Xbox.

The most "mechanically perfect" game is TETRIS. Nothing has ever beat TETRIS on pure mechanics and it has almost a Chess like simplicity.

Half-Life 2 is still my personal all-time favourite.

Pizza is just the easiest and the one with the most variety. Sandwich, great for lunches but I'm not ever really like "I want a sandwich" if I'm given the option of pizza. Burgers, it can be a real mixed bag. There can be some really disappointing and bad burgers, and I have to be in the mood for one. Overall, pizza is king.

Keeping it Epic exclusive on PC probably hasn't helped matters but obviously I understand why Epic would do that given they funded it. But it does limit the exposure quite a lot.

I can't remember the last game I bought physically. Looking on my shelf it was probably the PC Collector's Edition of Quantum Break, which was 2016. I basically only play PC games though; if I played games on console I'd probably be buying more physical ones.

Yes and no. They keep getting better but it's a bit like Moore's Law; we're starting to see a plateau. At the moment we are eeking out fairly minimal improvements for not necessarily any gameplay or enjoyment value.

I hope I'm wrong, but I do think Harris is going to lose. I'm praying the polls are wrong but I had a similar feeling in 2016.

@benleslie5: Nice to see you! I remember you back from the "Golden Era" or GameSpot. Hope you're doing well!

Myself I joined GS in 2005, I was a Moderator from 2008 to 2014. Autumn 2013 was when the GameSpot forums were decimated and old GameSpot UK Discussion was destroyed without any warning (even to the Mods), killing that community. After that, my interest waned. A decade ago now!

Now I'm in my 30s and have a full-time job, but I still look back on the 2005-2014 era of GameSpot with nostalgia. And I still play video games, and review them for my own site (entertainium.co). Some of the most fun I've ever had online was watching E3 in the old GS live chat.

I believe games should be as easy or as hard as you want. People should not be judged for having fun. I'd support an easy mode in Elden Ring or a hard mode in Super Mario Odyssey. Activate God Mode, I don't care. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to play a game.
