Warcraft III

And finally I finished Warcraft III. It took me some time because I didn't always look forward to playing it. I really liked the explore missions, but when the RTS elements came in it was less fun.

So apparently I don't like RTS games, and WC has helped me to found it out. But apart from that, Warcraft III was quite a good game with fair graphics and great sound, and has a nice story too.

I can understand why people who are into RTS can love this game, as even I had a pretty good time playing this. Therefor I give this game a 9,0.

Lost Kingdoms

Well, I just finished this game Lost Kingdoms in about 9 hours. But it were some unexpectedly great 9 hours. I initially thought this game was bad, but as I had nothing better to play, I decided to give it a try, and I don't regret it.

Lost Kingdoms is about an interesting and good card battle system. The story is bad, as are the graphics and the sound. But the gameplay is great and that what it's (mostly) all about. And thus I give the game a 8,0.

Prince of Persia

I've finished Prince of Persia: the Two Thrones for quite some time already, but it took me some time before I felt like mentioning it in my blog.

This last chapter of the 3D Prince of Persia trilogy was a worthy one. The gameplay was the first and the second mixed, with some extras. The end of the story was satisfying enough too.

I wonder what Ubisoft will do next with the PoP series. They finished this trilogy, and I wonder if they will make new PoP games. I hope they will, 'cause I loved these three.
And by the way, I rated Two Thrones 9,2.

My new PC

As I wrote in the 'about me' thingy, I've bought a new PC. With a Pentium 4 2,93 Ghz processor and 512 MB RAM it's quite an improvement to my previous PC (Pentium II with 64 MB RAM). Still, it's not a good gaming PC, but I didn't buy it for that.

That doesn't mean however that I won't use it for gaming. I downloaded the Tomb Raider Legend Demo to test whether or not it could handle it, but sadly that demo doesn't work. I think it's because of the SiS Mirage video card which was placed standard in this PC, I guess that one isn't good enough for something like Tomb Raider.

But I do think it will be able to handle Warcraft III, which I bought today. I haven't played it yet (because I bought PoP too today), but soon enough I will, and I hope it'll work.

James Bond

I've recently finished James Bond 007: Everything or Noting, and I've got mixed feelings about it. The game was not bad, because it was fun enough to play it, the graphics were ok and the sound was pretty good, but there were also some disturbing things.

Firstly, the game was extremely linear, and it felt I was pushed to go the way I had to go, without any freedom.
Second, when you die in this game, you (mostly) have to start all over because there are only a few check points per stage. And you'll die pretty often because during shoot-outs, you'll get shot from all sides and you can't get a good cover fast enough.

But if you don't die and if you're not disturbed by linear levels, the game is fine. I rated it 7,8.

And because I had no new games for my GC left, I bought PoP: Two Thrones.

Zelda, who doesn't love it.

Today I made the credits of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (LttP) appear on my DS' screen. I can't say exactly how long it took me, but my guess is about 20 hours.

And the 20 hours were great. But it's Zelda, so what else could you expect. It's the magical mix of memorable environments, ingenious dungeons, all kinds of special items, all things you can do with them, getting heart pieces, the all-known satisfying sound you hear when you solve a puzzle, etcetera. What is there not to love in Zelda?

After playing A Link to the Past, which I rated 9,2 (just like everyone else it seems), my craving for Twilight Princess has become even greater. I can't wait to get it!

Baten Kaitos

I've finally finished Baten Kaitos. It took me about 70 hours to do so, in 3 months. I am happy to have played it, since it was a great game. The card-battle system is a very good and it was something very new for me. And the game looked and sounded very good too.

There were a few minor points too though, and I personally liked Tales of Symponia a little better, but it's still a wonderful game that any RPG-loving cube owner should try. I can't say whether I'm going to write a review about it or not, but for now, I rated it 9,5.

Edit: Well now I have reviewed it, and the score that lead to is 9,6. Like I say in my review: every GC owner who likes RPGs and is not put off by a card system should play Baten Kaitos :)

Advance Wars

I've started a Link to the Past today, and I've put Advance Wars aside for that.

I started playing Advance Wars some time ago, but Mario & Luigi let me put it aside for a few weeks. Firstly, I didn't like Advance Wars that much. I thought it was a bit complicated and losing sucks. But after some time, I got to know the game mechanics better, and recently, I've been playing it all day long. It's been addicting for me, and I'm thinking about buying AW: DS after completing LttP, but I'm not sure.

So I liked Advance Wars, and I've rated it 9,3.

Many games

I finally bought Zelda: A Link to the Past today. I've wanted to play this game for a very long time and now is the time. The reason it took so long before I got it is because of the many other games I have to play.

More and more games I want to play are released, and the problem is that they are released faster than I'm able to finish the other games. Because of this, there are around 10 games that I wish to play, but where I just don't have the time for.
This makes me play the games less intensive than I'd otherwise do, because I want to play the other games too.

I probably won't be doing the majority of the War Room in Advance Wars, but I did finished the Campaign. I'll stop playing Advance Wars and start playing Zelda soon.

Now I'll play Baten Kaitos, which I have almost finished. After that, I still have James Bond, but I don't know wether I'll finish that, because I don't like it very much. I'll explain why in a later blog post. But for now, on to Baten Kaitos!

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time

Finally I finished a game again. Judging my Now Playing List, I'm playing 6 games. That's reduced to 5 now, since I've finished Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.

This game was fun, but it wasn't as good as I expected it to be, since it was a bit too linear, and very easy. But I liked it enough to rate it 8,6, as anyone can read in my first Gamespot review!
