Uh...the Xbox? Even if your argument is correct, I don't see why 'dumbing down' can be blamed on any one console. Anyway, it is not as if these changes are making their way to the PC. Consoles are more limited to PC's in certain aspects, so it is a given some things will be different.
Yeah...the same thing happened to me. I was reading the Heroes of Might and Magic 5 review, and the second page of the review was for Sniper Elite? Weird stuff.
Assume you are having trouble finding it, but are in the right place. When you first enter the the room that contains the essence of breath, you will notice that periodically you will see gas (or something like that) moving through the 'tubes'. If you follow the direction the gas is moving in, it will eventually lead you through all the one way doors to the essence of breath. Hope this helps.
Partways down the page there is a section that says FREE content (gamerpics, themes and content) which lists all of the free stuff on XBL marketplace. It's mainly movie stuff.
