@Vexov @skiggy34 2 - 1? Not even close! The Xbox One has shipped 5 million in 13 countries, versus the PS4's 7 million sales in 72 countries. All that with a $100 higher price tag. It's not hard to believe the Xbox One would outsell the PS4 if they were the same price.
Gran Turismo simply lacks the polish and presentation values of Forza Motorsport. The user interface looks so archaic and convoluted compared to the slick, simple menus of Forza. This seems to be a trend with Japanese developers to have menus that look like they're from the '90s. The whole GT experience just feels dull and uninspired to me, while Forza feels fresh and you can really sense that the developers are passionate about cars.
This is really a case of quality over quantity. Polyphony tries to pack in as many cars, tracks, and features as possible, with wildly inconsistent quality. Meanwhile, Forza has consistent quality across a somewhat smaller array of content. I much prefer the Forza approach.
It's very telling that a launch game like Forza 5 with a lack of content and all the backlash over microtransactions is still scoring higher than GT6 which is launching on the PS3 (which the developers should have mastered by now) with all its features and ridiculously large list of cars. Polyphony really needs to step up their game if they hope to stay relevant moving forward. I have no doubt GT will outsell Forza simply because of its strong heritage all the way back to the original PlayStation. It's still a powerful brand name, although its glory days are long gone. But if they keep putting out these subpar titles, word of mouth is going to hurt them and sales will continue to decline.
This is why I never buy the PS3 version of multiplatform games. Sony always secures these tiny bits of exclusive content, while Microsoft secures entire expansion packs with dozens of hours of gameplay. GTA IV, Fallout, The Elder Scrolls... now that's the kind of content I'm talking about. Then you have Sony's idea of content: two extra gang hideouts in RDR! 1 extra case in L.A. Noire! 60 mins of extra content in AC3! LOL! Sony better step it up if they want the PS3 version of multiplatform games to sell more than the 360 versions.
Wow, it's even worse for the PS3 than it was in the last graphics comparison. All the games except for one look better on the 360, and that one looks the same on both consoles. That's pretty pathetic for the PS3.
It's horrible how long the load times are on the PS3. GTA IV's initial load is nearly two times longer on the PS3 even though there's a long installation and ingame load times are exactly the same.
