I remember owning a pc game called Fantasy Empires that asked for a specific word from the manual at the beginning of the game. If you could not input this word you could not play the game. Here's the kicker....I lost the manual. I then owned a game that I bought but could no longer play. I understand their reasoning for doing things like that but I got screwed over there.
