I played some Jericho. It is a great game. So why did it earn such a low score cause the levels are straightfoward and you always have to revive your squad cause of some exploding monsters? Cause someone didn't know how to review it. Halo is pretty straightfoward, in GOW your team is always down yet these games had really high scores. Why? Is it the hype? I'll even have the nerve to say that Jericho works in terms of gunplay and GOW and Halo seem to have "technical dificulties" in that area. If there's an area in which those games don't go drab is in terms of art direction. What made a game like GoW a great game was how emergent (heehee) it felt every single time. The musical score is among the best i've heard and so is the art even if it is helped a lot by the stellar graphics. Halo on the other hand has these things too in it's own way, thing is that once you get into a level nothing more will happen than just seeing the same types of enemies over and over again and you get to shoot them. Now i ask if Jericho had rooms that would lead to nowhere, with some pick ups and some nice desks and computers would it make any diference?? If something so insignificant as having to revive your squad from time to time is that maddening? Actually it is one of the most fun things about the game when you are about to die you rush to someone else and heal them, it's a gameplay mechanic that takes the concept of lives and continuity (or however it is spelled) into something unique and engaging. And when everybody's down you get to understand that it works. There's cover, there's always a way to do things unscatched (erm) and there's plenty of stuff to mess around with. The art direction is on par with any other great game and you know what I think that it is funny? Is that that whole thing of being on a tight area surrounded by exploding monsters is avoidable and there is a way to deal with it. Actually more than one, there's like seven having seven characters. Aw, whatever. Another game which actually had a score in here which nails it just right is SpiderMan friend or foe. GS gave it a seven. Yet at gt they gave it a 5. WTF?! The game is fun, is cooler than lego star wars, it doesn't look like crap tho shaders could make it look a whole lot better and that's being nitpicky, cause, it looks great, the combat is kinda deep as dmc which is more than enough for a game as straightfoward as it is, the only thing that is kinda crappy is that the enemy variety is poor and the game is way too easy. Other than that it is great game and it is a lotta fun with two players. SO HOW DID IT EARN A 5 OVER THERE AT GT?! Give me your job posts immediately cause i need money, and the studios who made those games need too and yet you're just making their work more difficult giving their games senseless reviews. Clive won't go poor, still where's greg man? greg k the man? where is he. I have a lot of friends incluing myself that would gladly take the task and get it done.

Okay, actually there is recoil in gow
by ghurish on Comments
yeah, it's only apparent in some circunstances, like, when the locust are shot with a shotgun, they actually drop their weapons and sometimes they'll fall down and kneel in pain. So, i was playing in hardcore and that wasn't as apparent, in casual it seems that it is more visible. I thought that hardcore was the medium difficulty and I still think it is cause in causual the game is a walk in the park. If you turn down the blood too it looks more natural and cohesive too cause you only see the sparks coming out your armor, just makes it all more difficult to know when you're hitting the enemies but they fall down pretty easily with a couple of shots anyway. When you shoot a locust in hiding it won't seem retarded anymore cause once you do it they'll die most of the times so, casual makes the game look a lot cooler even if it gets way too easy specially playing wasd and a mouse. The game should still have recoil and the hardcore challenge minus the locust hp that should be cut to a half and even when shot at a distance they should act like they felt it, it seems that they only will get hurt when it's upclose.
you slash someone, they wince in pain

Crysis is the other fps' current crisis.

If your computer is up to snuff, go grab the demo of the most refined and technological advanced game on the pc ever. Sure there's some minor gripes but for me it's always easy to start nitpicking the heck outta of it and I say, is it any good? Yes. Is there any better fps out there right now? I don't think so.
Imagine FarCry a load times better cause it doesn't have any of the problems Farcry had, such as, shooting against vegetation and the bullets stopping right there in the uber resistant all mighty palm tree leaves while you're trying to headshot some stupid mercenary. Or monsters that reach you even if they're two meters away from you. Or the crappy voice acting. Now add it the single greatest most optimized fine tuned game engine ever created and a suit so you can go around playing human predator. Well that's it, there's nothing you can't use (only in a few instances your imagination might come across the game almost VR fabric that strings it all together). Examples, you can't mix up powers of the suit, at least yet, or stay always in cloak mode after you fire a shot (the cloak goes down after you shoot, makes sense cause it would make the game overtly easy that way). You cannot also hijack a patrol boat while there's sentries in there, and there were a couple of instances where i just killed everybody and some korean dude didn't do nothing other than just being there sit, watching the carnage ensue.
Still, it's so **** great compared to anything else. Graphics are the best i've ever seen here, i had never looked at a human character that looked so human. on the lowest settings. This almost looks like the first ff movie that came out on theaters. Even greater is that while crytek said that 2gbs ram would be needed to play it, they also said that the main ideia was to make it look pretty and smooth on pcs that would be the **** some years ago and, actually, yeah it does run on older systems like it was nothing. Crytek made the greatest graphics engine ever and i'm not overreacting. The music is awesome, reminds me of a lot of things like "John Carpenter's The thing" theme on the menu and when you are fighting you have this music that is highly reminiscent of the music used on the trailer for Undying. Which fits it just nicely. What's left to say?
I dunno if I dig the scenario all that much but that's a question of personal taste, I mean after a while i get kinda tired of outdoor setpieces only, I don't dig that americans vs north koreans thing all that much tho, it is entertainment and, in the context of the game it makes sense. i think they coulda've avoided all these kinds of cliches and make it all "place unknown, nationality unknown". And i dunno if I'll like fighting that kind of monsters the whole time, i hope there's some variation other than only war- of-the-worlds-esque alien creepies.
Anyways, get the demo.

WOOT! Hack and Slash champion returns to wipe out the competition after what seemed almost 4 rehashes of the same original game. Ninja Gore! Ninja Action! Ninja Frustration! Ninja Graphics! Ninja Awesomeness!
okay that's about enough. enough to making me consider getting a xbox360 and only, maybe, then a ps3.
NGE needs a proper game!

How shaders make a game look so much better. I was looking foward to play it tho i had some gripes with it. After the latest trailers and screens I don't anymore. I just don't get why Dante gets owned that way... anyways... seems like something very worthy of its full price and a good complementary to NG2.
NG2 mwahahaha.
Lost Planet is a good game to play in summer

It seemed to me that it was pretty much a simple game for all I had seen and that it had some flaws in it.
Well, I was WRONG. This game is pretty "cool". And it is cool cause it's simple. Screenshots and **** don't make it any justice. It's one of those first games where I can see what next gen is all about. the core gameplay isn't anything outstanding but what makes Lost Planet a great game is the whole experience. It's just too pretty too look at. It kinda has this MGS meets Star Wars feel to it somehow. And the fact that the gameplay isn't so bad makes it a breeze to go thru. There's quite a sense of scale in it, everything is bigger than you. Some of the boss battles are awesome, and in the end it's a pretty standard shooter with a cool sense of what's cool and what is stylish for them, ppl who made the game. The game is quite easy, everything's that runs across your path is quite dumb and **** so you can play around with it and have fun pretending these guys are tough while they're throwing grenades and rockets at you. Cause you're quite invencible, the only concern you've got is not dying from hypotermia or whatever. I mean that you can't let yourself too much into the cold or you'll freeze. Only way to stop this is from getting the heat that the enemies ooze outta them when you kill em. What doesn't make any sense is in stages near volcanos this same mechanic applies. The story doesn't make much sense too tho the cutscenes are pretty to look at. All in all this game is a winner for throwing something different in each stage, always keeping it interesting. Mutiplayer is fun but on the pc it's kinda hard to find any servers. Steam piece of ****
