Downloaded the demo and it does not like my system, probably cause I have a GeForce FX 5500. My system runs Half Life 2 pretty well but not on the max settings. So I'm gonna have to upgrade my graphics card. But if I get a PCI-E card, I would need a new motherboard, and also a new processor. So kind of expensive!

People who are saying that backwards compatibility is not important and you should be looking to the future don't realise that there are lot of people who still love and enjoy playing their older games. Plenty of people are still out there with their NES, Mega Drive (Genesis), SNES, and possibly even Spectrum. Backwards Compatiblity is a great thing as it allows those who had the old system to still enjoy their old games especially if they had to sell the older system for money. It's also a great way to introduce new users to the old catalogue who never played the older games. I own a PS2 and was really grateful for the backwards compatiblity, and was lucky that I was able to use my old PS memory cards in the PS2 to make saves for the PS games. I still play FFVII and Wipeout. It's a shame the same can't be done with the XBox, and it really seems like this whole backwards compatibility thing was something they only just thought about adding on as opposed to being one of the central things they were going to concentrate on. (I don't really follow the news on the XBox so I'm probably wrong here, so I apoligise in advance!) I'm sure that if they were thinking about it immediately, then the ability to transfer saves would be made and these incompatiblity issues would be so prominent. I don't plan on buying an XBox or an XBox 360 as the games never really appealed to me (except for JSR Future but I'm not buying a console just for one game). I just wanted to make the point that backwards compatiblity is important and can be one of the many advantages of buying a console. Look at the Wii and the virtual console. I'll be looking forward to getting a PS3 and the backwards compatibility there so I can play the more recent FF titles and Guitar Hero, and I just wonder if there will still be the ability to play PS games aswell.
