Little King's Story

I got a Walmart gift certificate from my in-laws for my bday, so I got to spend it yesterday. Restricted to an under-$40 game due to recent house issues, I didn't have much choice of good games. I almost got Rune Factory Frontier, since I've been craving Harvest Moon lately. I also considered Sims Castaway, but I played the DS version and it was monotonous, but mildly amusing - I figured that the Wii version wouldn't be a huge change. To my surprise, I found Little King's Story for $30. Woo! Anyway, I played it for a couple of hours when I got home while my husband cut down pieces of the ceiling. It was super fun - the dust inhalation and the game. I'm watching Lost Horizon and I just want to play the game again. Anyway, it pulled me away from a replay of Twilight Princess, so it's got to be good. I really like the humour in it and literary references, being the lit nerd I am. It's too bad that the art and title are misleading - I was surprised when I read good reviews of it because it sounded a little on the retarded side and the character art wasn't very appealing. I'm glad that I picked it up and I have a feeling that it's just going to end up one of those sought-after titles. And on the topic of Walmart and their video game section, I continue to be disgusted with the amount of **** that's produced for all consoles. Parents are really stupid, buying their kids movie adaptation games and Jonas Bros. ****e. When I was a kid, I bought Mario Bros. and Zelda games. You know, games that stand the test of time, that are well done, and appeal to the owner for more than 30 seconds. Everything is so disposable and the video gaming industry is getting more bloated with these worthless titles that go straight to the bargain bin. Parents should educate themselves on games before shelling out $40-$60 for a game that their kid will play for an hour. Parents should teach their kids to educate themselves on their consumerism. I get disgusted when I see kids selling all their old games and systems to buy the newest ones and then claiming that they're gamers. Kids have no appreciation for good games. They judge games by their graphics and the amount of blood or what licensed character appears in it. Oh, and Shawn White is disgusting, he should spell his name properly, and he should stop polluting the stores with his ****ty games.
