I use an Antec P182, and am loving it. All the rubbery noise- and vibration-damping (yes, that's damping, not dampening) stuff in the case is awesome. I also found it decently spacious inside, and it also allowed for some very clean cabling (and I'm all about having clean cabling :P). The downside to the case is that it's steel, so it's a bit heavier than an aluminum one. If you don't mind the bit of extra weight and spending a little more on a case (I think it's ~110 after rebate on Newegg atm), I would highly recommend it.

For the record, my Acer lappy (low-spec one for school only, I have my desktop for gaming/multimedia stuff) died without any warning whatsoever within six months of me purchasing it. Granted, it's still under warranty (I sent it in for repairs) and this probably isn't entirely representative of their product quality, but even so, I'm never buying an Acer product again.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. :)

Haven't really played any other classes, but I, too, can attest to the Vanguard being fun. That is, as mentioned above, once you get out of the sub-ten level range or so and are a little less fragile. :)

Oh, and gotta love shotties, too - carnage is awesome. :D

If you're a space flight sim kind of guy at all, you should check out Freespace2 and the community engine upgrades at www.hard-light.net. They have the game looking utterly fantastic for something that came out in '99. :)

Oh, and I'll second the suggestion for the Baldur's Gate series. :D

[QUOTE="inyourface_12"]you must have some ancient hardware not to run it decentlyfoxhound_fox

ATI X1650Pro 512MB, 2.667 GHz P4 w/o HT, 2.25GB PC-333... or Epic is just terrible at optimisation. I can nearly max out Episode 2 and Portal... this is obviously a UE3 problem.

Please keep in mind that HL2 and the Source engine were current from three years ago. Granted, Valve has been updating the engine over the past few years, but even so UE3 titles have only started coming about about a year ago. And this is a brand new game that's coming out, and to be fair, your hardware is rather old by today's specs.
