It's always been like this. The lull in graphical advancements from like ~2010 to now has made PC users expect too much. It wasn't too long ago where costly, yearly upgrades were required if you had any hope of running games at max. Now, even mid range machines are expected to nearly max games at moderate resolutions. I build a mid range machine every 3-4 years. It's crazy how well they can run modern games now compared to 10 years ago.

Pretty ignorant to most of this gamergate stuff until the mainstream media started covering it, but god damn, THAT is depression quest? No wonder people thought there was something fishy going on. How on Earth did that get picked up by the media. Literally worse than the text adventure's they use to teach you loops in high school programming classes. I envisioned something like Gone Home at the very least. With all the great games out there(many developed by women), I can't believe that pile of ... is causing all of this.

There are no longer new, major releases dedicated to the PC like there was 10 years ago. Just get used to the idea and enjoy the smaller games. They're often more creative anyway.
