sorry for the double-post. Also like to mention that anyone who thinks that Gears 1 is "much better, or greater than" Gears 2 has not EVER played the game. Gears 2 is one of my most played games, and someone who thinks Gears 1 is better has never played the game. You have to play both to really comprehend the substantial differences and improvements in Gears 2.

Gears 2 was much better than Gears 1 by far, Epic took the "If it aint broke, dont fix it" approach, and they certainly improved. The visuals are much cleaner in Gears 2 (Anya looks 8 million times better in Gears 2 ;) ), the gameplay was improved to prevent noobage kills (yea you know what I mean, the Dive->Shotgun-To-Face Combo) with stopping power. Gears 2 overall is just more aesthetically pleasing and easier to pick up and play online. And dont forget, the lancer actually has a purpose in Gears 2 now, wheras Gears 1 the lancer was weak and almost useless in many situations.
