I use the big three operating systems: Windows, Mac OS X and Linux and I can say I love Windows 7. However, what makes me stay with Windows Vista ( and Server 2008 ) is the new taskbar. I find it very annoying and counterproductive. Microsoft is taking the bad MacOS X idea of "icon only" which is a really bad and slow thing. I rather keep the old taskbar than to use the new one, even if that means staying with Vista, which I'm relatively happy with. I find the new taskbar more annoying than the Blue Screens of Death. At least the BSoD can be remedied with a simple reboot or a reinstall and that's saying something. Other than that, Windows 7 is a great step forward!
Why do people even bother arguing? People constantly forget the fact that both the ATi and NVIDIA chips in the respective consoles are of the relatively the same generation. The XBOX 360's graphics chip is the predecessor to the ATi Radeon HD 2000 series and the Playstation 3's graphics is based on NVIDIA's GeForce 7 series. Both of those were neck to neck on the PC market and it shows on XBOX 360 & PS3. There really is no point to make these comparisons anymore on the basis of who's better. However, I think people should treat this as how much developers have gained experience to push these consoles further to their limits.
I don't see anything different. Is DX 10 even on for the Vista version, or the version jump makes no real difference? I remember the Call of Duty 4 team commented on the fact that you can make "DX10" quality with DX9. I think we can conclude this conclusion with these screenshots.
not only that red_fire4, but XBOX also has a better online system for online gaming. You don't get the same thing for the Playstation and probably never will. gnutux
