First let me premise by saying, I really don't like Batman. I think the whole Batman and DC comics thing is a bit juvenile. That being said however, this game is anything but. The game itself is dark and very adult. Combining elements of stealth and takedown like you'd expect to find in Splinter Cell or Metal Gear.
The combat system is fantastic. Utilizing combination attack moves and take-downs with cinematic slow motion finishing moves. Combine that will riddles left behind by Enigma that make you search out areas where clues might be hidden.
When these riddles are uncovered or solved, you collect points that allow you to upgrade and unlock new moves, gadgets and weapons. That further allow you to get to places you could not previous and unravel more riddles...it's just a vicious cycle of show me more!
The ability to go into dectective mode lends itself to finding alternate routes, detecting enemies around corners and enhances the game quite a bit. The main baddies and dialog of the game help to make this game more along par with a Resident Evil title than anything near what you'd expect to see in a Batman title.
This game was developed using the Unreal engine and was published by Square Enix, so the graphics as you would expect are great.
The voice acting in this game is quite entertaining as is the fan-service provided by the female villains. All in all this is a must play game for anyone who appreciates a good Resident Evil title or a good stealth game. It's just not what you'd expect.
