Darksiders was pretty decent game all around. I wouldn't say it was spectacular in any one way, it was what you'd expect from a third person styled hack and slash. It combines level up capabilities with exploration and combination or move based combat. The storyline was decent, once again not spectacular but enough to keep the player interested. Hidden chests and the collection of souls to power-up weapons and moves drive level exploration. The fighting style and slow motion end moves or fatalities add a bit of flare to the otherwise constant button mashing. The graphics are decent, and the PC version doesn't really allow you to scale up or down the graphics to match your computer's capabilities leaving the textures and models just decent looking. The music suits the game. All in all, the game is a decent play if you like the third person hack and slash genre. No real ground breaking anything, just another decent game.
