Free Old-Fashioned Adventure Games!!!

(Sounds like an advertisement, doesn't it? ) Well, my first 2 days of summer have ended, and now I'm onto day 3. And what have I done the past few days? Basically nothing:|. Yup, off to a good start, isn't it:roll: ? But seriously, all I've done was get on Gamespot constantly and lurk in forums and unions all day long, which is absolutely pathetic if you ask me. But it got me to level 31, so I'm slightly happy I guess. I also made constant visits to this other site which I have used since 2002, and that site is home of the Adventure Game Studio. Now, this is a site where people can just make old-school adventure games from scratch using a special program you have to download, and they are reminiscent of the old Sierra and LucasArts adventure games released in the early 1990s. I've never actually used the program myself, but the primary reason I visit the site is to download the many incredible adventure games that are available. It may sound stupid, the idea of playing a homemade adventure game made by an amateur, but most of them are quite good, and are worth the experience. Besides, with the genre almost going extinct as less and less fully developed adventure games are released each day, there's gotta be SOME way to be able to have a reason to enjoy point and click adventures again. I have a couple personal recommendations in case those very, VERY few people that read my blog want to sink their teeth into the site.

The first one is Pleurghburg: Dark Ages.

Now, the graphics may look very simplistic (which most of these games are), but let me tell you, this is probably the best AGS game I've played. I played this sucker back in 2002, and it still brings back memories. It's pretty lengthy, and features a great detective story (it becomes slightly creepy in a few cases if I remember). Also, it apparently has multiple endings, which is sweet! Check it out. It doesn't disappoint adventure game fans.

Next is 5 Days A Stranger.

This one is actually a horror/adventure game, and a brilliant one at that. I played this one I believe in 2003, and this sucker gives you the creeps. It's not as long as the previous game I mentioned, but that's not necessarily a bad thing because this game has three sequals to enjoy after it (in order, they are 7 Days A Skeptic, Trilby's Notes, and 6 Days A Sacrifice):D. Gory, scary, and just amazing for amateur adventure games. And I recommend them all.

So, check out the site, and show some love for a genre that's becoming lost in a world revolved around graphically-enhanced first person shooters and ultra-fantasy RPGs. Trust me, it's worth it.

Well, I found out the results of my exams and what my final grades are. Overall I'm satisfied I guess. For Chemistry I'm DEFINATELY surprised at the result, because I thought I would do terrible on it, due to the fact I was really lacking in brainpower in that cl@$$ during the last few weeks. I also didn't study for it, and crammed it all in the night before. Well, I got a 96, therefore, I ended that cl@$$ with a satisfying A. Pre-Calculus was also another cl@$$ I got a good grade in, as I got an A on that exam as well. But that cl@$$ I really didn't need to worry about, since my math skills are as sharp as a Sharpie:lol:................:|ok, not too funny. Spanish and Studio Art went well, getting A's on those. Then that comes down to English. All we had to do was turn a rough draft we wrote earlier in the year into a final copy, as well as answer a couple simple opinionated essay questions, and that was it. How hard could it possibly be? Well, it wasn't the matter of how hard it was, but the factor of how LAZY I was to not revise the rough draft:|. But I figured, "Hell, I won't get a bad grade because this assignment seems easy enough:D:D:D. " Got a C-:|. Brought my final grade for that cl@$$ down to a B-. Crushed my hopes for actually getting a 4.0 GPA for once. All because I'm a moron. But overall, my report card looks alright I guess......

Now, MOVIE SCORES:

American Splendor--9.5/10

The Truman Show--8.5/10

Venus--8.5/10 (Why is this poster so damn creepy? )

Oh damn! The final Price Is Right show is coming on in a little bit! Can't miss it. Until Next Time, LATA!!!
