Traveling...............Again..............For the Third Time

Man, this summer really IS better than last summer. And this week is proving that it can surpass all the events that took place last summer. You see, my mom and her girlfriend got a bug up their ass and wanted to go tubing up north. We're supposed to be going on Saturday, just the three of us. But we're not just going to be up there on Saturday. We're actually staying with my grandma and grandpa from Friday to Monday. So, you know what that means, right? That means a blog post when I come back that has the introduction "I'M BACK BIZOTCHES" once again:lol:.

So, what else has happened this week? Well, you could probably guess one event that I've been keeping track of, and that is E3. But I'm not going into all of the details, since most of you have already read all of the smorgusboard of information on the site, watched it on G4 (or whatever the kids call it nowadays:P ), read it in some magazine, or some other ish like that. Instead, I'll give you an opinion. I tell ya, I am quite disappointed this year, though, and I have a feeling that disappointment will stick around for all of the future E3s as well because of the downgrade. I watched 2 out of the 3 major press conferences that were recorded live, which were Microsoft's and Nintendo's (as you can see the emblems;) ). I don't have a 360, but I want one badly, and that's why I watched Microsoft's press conference. And while most would say it was disappointing, I thought it was great. That Call of Duty 4 gameplay footage was out of this world, and that Resident Evil 5 teaser trailer made my jaw drop in anticipation. I'm starting to even regret I got a Wii instead of a 360, because that system has a SH*TLOAD of great games coming out (and already out). And then Nintendo's press conference made me want my Wii even less. All there was was a bunch of statistics on how well the Wii was doing compared to the competition the whole time it seemed:roll:. And I was expecting bigger game announcements, like a new Zelda for Wii or, I don't know, A GAME THAT LOOKS AS HARDCORE AS GAMES LIKE THE XBOX 360 HAS:evil:. Even some decent Super Smash Bros. Brawl news (besides the release date) was what I was expecting, such as the announcement of Sonic or something. But no, all we got was Wii Fit:|. Looks like a useful product and all, but not impressive. The only thing that probably impressed me the entire time was the new gameplay footage of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (comes out 7 days after my birthday8) ). And as far as Sony goes, with that high price tag and barely any exclusive games to back it up, I really don't give a sh*t about the PS3 right now. But, yeah, pretty much disappointing all the way around. With about only 3 major games coming out for the Wii (Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption) that I am wanting really bad, and a smorgusboard of impressive games coming to the Xbox 360 (Grand Theft Auto 4, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, this list is endless), I am REALLY disappointed with the Wii. Hopefully in the future there will be some cool games that aren't announced right now coming to the Wii instead of the annoying amount of puzzle games:roll:.

Then, moviewise, my goal to watch the whole Indiana Jones trilogy finally ended to prepare for the fourth installment next year. But that's not all for movies. Today, I went with some lady friends from school to go see another major blockbuster film at the theater. Now, I wasn't really planning on seeing this movie anytime soon, until me and one of the girl's made plans to start a "group" to go to the movies together. Plus, the trailers and reviews seemed good enough, so what the hell? Now, what movie is it? None other than:

Transformers

Now, with the summer almost half-way over, let's do a recap of all of the blockbuster movies released this summer alone: Spiderman 3, Shrek the Third, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Ocean's Thirteen, Fantastic Four and the Rise of the Silver Surfer, Evan Almighty, Ratatouille, Live Free or Die Hard, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This could be the biggest summer of blockbuster movies EVER. It's just impressive. AND THE SUMMER ISN'T EVEN OVER YET!!! But, with all of these movies becoming major successes, another one steps into the ring, and that is the highly anticipated Transformers. I'm not a fan of the cartoon or anything, and wasn't even considering seeing this movie, but it was a satisfying experience. Most of you know what it's about, these robots from outer space that can change from vehicles to mammouth robots, and vice versa. The Autocons (the good robots) come to Earth basically to stop the Decepticons (the bad robot) from taking over the planet, and that's basically the plot. Pretty original, isn't it? It's actually pretty cliched:D. But, like with most of the mindless movies of the summer, the plot doesn't really matter. In fact, this movie is quite similar to Live Free or Die Hard in terms of humor mixed equally with action, only this time, there are robots instead of John McClane and his terrorist enemies. Oh, and this movie is smeared with impressive CGI. It is truly impressive, too, as the robots almost look realistic. But, unlike Live Free or Die Hard, it wasn't entirely made up of homemade stunts that made it so cool. This movie DOES have a nice cast, though, with Shia LeBouf, Jon Voight, John Turturro, and Anthony Anderson making appearances. The acting wasn't really impressive, as expected, but the actors and actresses gave it all they got. Anthony Anderson was funny as hell, may I point out. And Shia LeBouf? Well, he's a little goofy, but he makes for a good protagonist. One thing that made this movie different, though, was all of the humor in this movie. It almost seemed like this movie was attempting to be a comedy most of the times, with all of the sexual humor, one-liners, smart-ass remarks, and funny reactions to situations scattered throughout the movie. Not that it was a problem, though, because it made the scenes that WEREN'T action packed entertaining. It WAS pretty funny, too, and not so stale as you would think. This was just a great time overall, and even if you're not a fan of the toys, cartoons, or other form of entertainment, this is a great popcorn movie to go see with friends or family. Not as great as some of the other movies I've seen this summer, but still satisfying. It gets an 8.5/10.

Now, for quick views on the two Indiana Jones sequals:

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Indiana Jones is back at it again as he must defeat an evil cult who took a helpless village's sacred artifact to use for their own evil purposes. Basically, this is a spin-off of the series, since none of the characters from the first return, an Asian boy by the name of Shorty acts as Jones' companion, the Nazis aren't the villians, and a dancer from Shanghai tags along by force with him. Why the characters from the original don't make a return is beyond me, but things get weirder in the third movie. Less humor in this one, and a little less charm of the adventuring than the first, but still the same entertainment you'd get out of Indiana Jones. The villian is more sinister, though, and a little creepy. But it all works out. An 8.5/10.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

......and then all of the characters from the second installment disappear:|. I would REALLY like to know why this happens constantly. Luckily, though, SOME characters from the first make their return in this one, such as Sallah (Jones' Arabian friend), Marcus (Jones' companion at the school he teaches in) and the Nazis. This time around, Jones has to rescue his father, in which Sean Connery makes a nice introduction to the trilogy, and then they search for the Holy Grail. Having Harrison Ford and Sean Connery on screen together, conquering the bad guys together was a treat to watch, and of course, the humor is intact. Not so much impressive action or witty humor as the past, though. Also, this one seems to be more family friendly than the others. But a satisfying "end" to the trilogy..........until the fourth installment comes along:P. An 8.5/10.

*whew* I think I'm tired out. I also think I broke a sweat:lol:. Hopefully I don't get the error of posting more than 20,000 characters for this, because I think that's ridiculous that blog posts have a limit:|. It happened to me when I wrote my last dialogue sequence, and I had to cut a lot of good stuff out, which sucked. So, have a great weekend everyone, and see ya all early next week. Until Next Time, LATA!
