Samsung Galaxy S2 will be here soon!

This year I decided to treat myself to a few presents since I purchased gifts for everyone else in the family. I bought myself a laptop, and a new phone. That new phone is the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2. Let me tell you one thing, I am super excited for it to get her. I'm definitely going to be playing with it all day!

My return

I haven't been blogging as much as I used to, because I haven't really had a computer to do it on lately.

I am working on an article/ blog that should be of interest to anyone who likes downloadable games and owns a PS3.

I am going through my PSN games and playing through them to make a good strong list of the great games on PSN. I won't be including PS1 or Retail PS3 games, nor PS2 games and Minis (Maybe in at a later time.) It might take me awhile but I plan on having this posted by the end of the year in time for the Holidays. Of course this list will only be made up of various games I own, so I'm sure there are plenty that will be missing.

Also I'd like to say that Uncharted 3 was amazing and I recommend it to everyone who enjoys video games and owns a PS3. Working on my playthrough on crushing right now. One more thing, SKYRIM!!!!!!

FPS shooters.. Two Worlds 2 update.. New games

It might just be me, but I really have grown tired of shooters this gen. Not all shooters, but FPS to be specific. I really don't feel like they're getting any better and every one I play feels like the same old thing. I used to really like the genre. Last gen I loved Halo CE and Halo 2, Black, the 007 games. My favorite game for N64 was Goldeneye. Early this gen I really enjoyed Resistance, Call of Duty 4, Brothers in Arms. I still like the Killzone franchise. I don't know why but it just seems different and better than most others to me personally. As far as single player games, FPS's suck. Multiplayer is still really good in shooters. In fact I think that multiplayer components work best with the genre. Which is kinda bad, because as the multiplayer community dies, so does the game.

I just played Crysis 2 and was not at all impressed. The graphics are pretty good, but as far as fun gameplay, there is nothing too engaging to get excited about. I haven't played multiplayer yet, but I played the demo and thought it was pitiful before. I think developers need to really slow down on the genre. It seems like we're getting an army of rehashes every year, and its getting pathetic. I want to see more games of other genres. I don't think I'll be purchasing anymore FPS's for awhile besides Battlefield 3. (end)

I've been playing Two Worlds 2 lately and I'm about 7 hours into it. I really like this game actually, but there are just so many technical problems, voices cut out early, sometimes the lip synching is wayyy off and the framerate gets downright embarrasing sometimes. The game also isn't easy. I'm playing as a full mage character and I often find myself running so I can gain some distance to cast spells. All in all I think it is a great game. I am, however irritated with the fact that it has online trophies.. and no one plays it online... like at all. (end)

So I got some new games with the B2G1 sale at Gamestop. Ironically 2 of the 3 are FPS. But oh well.

Crysis 2 (PS3)

A good looking game with little substance in my eyes. I'll finish it before writing a review. It may actually get really good. I've only played it for about 1 hour before getting back to Two Worlds.

Singularity (PS3)

Have no idea whether or not I'll like this game, but it looks interesting and different.

Folklore (PS3)

I actually love this game. I've already beaten it. That was a long time ago, around the time it came out. It has a fantastic story. I won't be reviewing this game so I'll just give you a score for it. 9.0 Good gameplay, excellent story.

Well thanks for reading. See ya next time.

3 New games

Today received 3 new games:

Alice: Madness Returns

I never heard of the original Alice, so this game coming with it is great! Added value! I've been playing both. (Still playing Two Worlds 2.) Both titles are amazing and I really like them both. I am excited to write my great review for this amazing 2 in 1 deal.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Haven't tried this one out yet. But it looks good and exciting.

Ventica

I'm hoping for the best with this one. I've heard bad things but it looked good to me so I got it anyways to find out for myself.

Today is a great day for my PS3!

Today I got my new HDD in the mail along with two new games, which I'll get to later.

Last night I took out my hdd before going to sleep so it would be all ready for me to just put the new one right in. I got a 7200rpm 3gb/s 500GB hdd, and installation was quick and easy. Just finished the restore (I also backed up everything on my external last night as well) It took around 3 hours. Right now syncing trophies, and trying to see if any of my data was missing. By the way, syncing trophies from scrath takes a ridiculously long time. Usually you have to do it several times because of the infamous error that comes up after a certain period. I'll do it however long it takes, I have a lot of trophies and don't really want to lose them (Which won't technically happen but still.)

I also recieved 2 new games in the mail along with it.

Eternal Sonata (PS3)

I've been wanting to get this game forever. I finally got it for 16 on amazon. Good deal and hopefully a great game!

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (PS3)

I've heard this is a really great game. Hoping for the best, Not really my favorite genre.. But we'll see how it goes. $20 on amazon.

That's it for today. Can't wait to get these stupid trophies synced. Starting my first playthrough of Two World 2 today!

E3 games and a few new to the collection.

So E3 is over now and several games have jumped up on my most wanted list. I just want to talk about a few of them real quick and tell you why they're exciting me so much.

Skyrim (PS3, XBOX360, PC)

First of all is Skyrim. Before E3 I was already excited about this game, and after E3 I'm literally jonesin to play it. I was a little worried that it would be either too different or too similar to Oblivion for it to really impress me and make me fall in love with it. So many things about this game sound perfect. Dual weidling magic just sounds amazing! I love playing as a mage and this sounds perfect, you can also combine to like spells to make a more powerful version by using them simultaneously. This game will really cater to all audiences. There will also be dual wielding swords and even holding a staff in one hand and a sword in the other. Kind of makes the spellsword class finally make complete sense!O

This game looks simply fantastic. The world sounds like it is going to be so real and full of life. Hunting will be much more exciting when creatures don't instantly attack or run away when they see you. You could even observe the creatures' hunting rituals and see their agendas. sounds fantastic, along with unscripted dragons swooping down from above and reigning death upon all it comes across, besides your character (hopefully!)

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PS3)

Uncharted has always been one of my favorite PS3 franchises ever since Drake's Fortune debuted. One of the first games I've ever pre ordered. The graphics were great, controls were good, and the story was interesing. Then comes along Among Thieves. This game brought everything up several levels. Perfectly polished and utterly breathtaking, with tight controls and a good (albeit very similar to DF) story. Now we're close to getting our hands on the third title in the series, Drake's Deception. Wow does it look good. I couldn't figure out how they'd beat what they've already accomplished, but after E3, I'm sure this one will be even better than its predecessor! The graphics look at least 3x better than before, you can tell especially when looking at character faces and models.

The demo they showed in the ship was spectacular, it looked so exciting, and I can't wait to get to actually play it with my DS3. This is gonna be an amazing game!

Dark Souls (PS3, XBOX 360)

I remember pre-ordering Demon's Souls because I thought it would be like Oblivion.. it wasn't. I thought people were just saying that it was really difficult because it was slightly harder than the average game... again.. wrong! Well now the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls is coming out. And after beating the first and spending 70 hours doing so, I'm fully ready to dive into this game. The name of the game is Dark Souls!

Unlike the other games I listed, this game might not make it to a day 1 purchase for me, but we'll see as I learn more. The graphics look great and share the same haunting atmosphere as Demon's Souls did, which to me is what made the game world so different and interesting. There is no reason not to look forward to this game. The devs even said they were going to try to make this game harder than the first one! Still not quite sure if I can handle that!

Mass Effect 3 (PS3, XBOX 360, PC)

Mass Effect is my favorite new series from this gen. It blends amazing story and setting with great TPS and roleplaying gameplay to craft something truely different and breathtaking. Playing the first game, I was immediately sucked into its world and it characters. The drama, the politics, the history. Now after putting around 200 hours into the series so far, the 3rd game in the series is set to release in 2012.

Unlike the good gentleman above, my commander shepard will sport the default appearance and will be of the soldier **** Then the second playthrough will use me beautiful female commander shepard and will be of the adept **** Or maybe I'll play as her first hmmm.. One thing is for sure though, if you have not played Mass Effect 1 and 2 using one of the power heavy ****s, you have been doing it wrong.

This game will be a day one for me for sure. There is no way I could put off finishing the journey of shepard, the best of the human species.

Far Cry 3 (PS3, XBOX 360, PC)

I am one of the few who were very satisfied with Far Cry 2. I really liked the game, it played well, the graphics were great. Guns jammed (actually.. that was one of the annoying parts.) The only thing holding the game back from greatness were the extremely long and boring drives across Africa and the bland environments. Environments are diffenitely fixed on the lush island Far Cry 3 is based on, but it is unknown if the ridiculous driving will still be apart of the fun.

Oh wait that's Far Cry 1! Oh well, not changing it. The graphics on the latest entry do look great though, I'm not expecting an awesome multiplayer component, but the huge open island environments are what excite me, as well as the varying gameplay.

Resistance 3 (PS3)

Resistance FOM was the irst game I purchased for my PS3 way back in May of 07. The graphics didn't blow me away as much as I was expecting, but it was still a great looking game. On top of that, I had more fun with Resistance than almost every other FPS released so far. The Co-op campaign was fantastic, I must have beaten the game at least 6 times. I still remember pulling an all nighter and beating the game in one day with my friend. We were amazed. Resistance 2 disappointed me in great ways. The same friend came over when it was released and we started it up only to find out that the full campaign could not be played in splitscreen co op.. At that point I set it down and didn't play it for about a year, finally coming back to it to complete the single player campaign.

I have high hopes that Resistance 3 will redeem the franchise in my eyes. Crossing fingers for splitscreen co op of the full campaign! Even if it doesn't have that, the videos I've seen look great, both the single player and the multiplayer. The grpahics are looking great as well. I'm pretty confident that this game is going to be great, and even if its not, the unique box art will look great in my collection. ;)

Dragon's Dogma (PS3, XBOX 360)

This game is looking really great, would be better with RPG elements, but the setting and gameplay look good, clean, and smooth. This game looks to be a great game (GOTY 2012 maybe? No probably not, lol.) I haven't seen or read too terrible much about it, but what I have is great and the game excites me.

Jurassic Park (PS3, XBOX 360, PC)

I really haven't ever been into TellTale games, or adventure games for that matter, but I am looking forward to this one if for nothing more than the fact that there are dinosaurs, and because it carries the name of one of my favorite childhood movies. I read that it wasn't going to be as much of an inventoy based puzzle system, which is good, because that annoys me. If this game can deliver the kind of experience that watching the movie for the first time did (which is what they claim to be going for) then this game will be a definite blockbuster.

There's plenty of other games I'm excited for and was impressed by at E3, but these are the main titles I wanted to throw out there. Oh and one last thing about E3: Not excited for Wii U :(

Now that E3 has been taken care of, I have some new additions to the collection to add. :)

Test Drive Unlimited 2

Haven't played it yet. I have so many games to play.. Right now still trying to work on beating L.A. Noire to get it out of the way (it has gotten boring a little and repetitive.) I do look forward to taking this game out for a drive though soon. Right now most of my racing game time has been dedicated to GT5. I'll review this game.. eventually.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

I've always liked this game, got it for $10 on PSN, couldn't resist the deal! I like the multiplayer and the single player and splitscreen is great too. I'll post a review maybe, kind of undecided on this one.

Well that's it for today, there will be another game collection update on Tuesday or Wednesday, I'll be getting 4 (or maybe even 5) new games so stay tuned (Even though I already know no one does! lol, but seriously, leave me some comments, I work hard on these!)

More E3 and some new games.

So E3 is nearing the end and so far I'm pretty impressed with a lot of things.

I was really looking forward to the new Nintendo console, but the Wii U is not what I was expecting at all, and frankly is not my cup of tea. However it does look interesting and different. It will be nice to see what kind of real gaming experiences it can pull off. The increased graphics are a plus as well, finally Nintendo games will be played in stunning HD.

I'm really excited for Skyrim now, even more so than before, and it was my most anticipated game already. The footage from GS's Stage Show looked spectacular and VERY exciting. I CAN NOT wait. I'm going to have to break into Bethesda Studios and obtain a pre build NOW! jk jk.

Dragon's Dogma looks fantastic as well, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Always ready for a medieval adventure with swords and sorcery. Not looking quite as impressive as I was expecting, but still looks like a game I'll most likely be getting day 1.

Starhawk looks really out there. A few of my friends watching E3 said they won't be getting it because it is too out there for their tastes. Even my brother (the biggest Warhawk fan I know) is kinda worried it won't be his cup of tea. I agree that they kinda went a little too far, but it still looks good to me, and I'll probably get it.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations looks awesome. I need to hurry up and finish the first and third games so I can be ready to play this when it comes out. Looks like it has tons of improvments from ACII and it seems to have a more cinematic feel. I'm hoping stealth will be a big part of it. Nothing like taking out a whole squadron of gaurds without them ever knowing what's going on.

Mass Effect 3.. I'm very excited, but also a little worried that the gameplay will stray too far from an RPG. But it still looks good and fun. I'm really excited to see how the series wraps up.

Uncharted 3 looks stunning.. and amazing. I can't wait to get my hands on this game, might have to swing by Sony and the Naughty Dog offices after Bethesda and make another game heist! The graphics are great, the environments are beautiful. The water effects are completely out of this world. Chloe now looks hot, Elena is back! Sully, pretty much the whole crew. Wonder if any new allies will be coming into the picture. Can't wait to experience the awesome cinematics and moments of UC3.

Resistance 3 looks really good, I'm looking forward to it as well as Far Cry 3.Asura's Wrath was looking good. I'm very excited for Hitman Absolution.

Plenty of games coming out and being shown. This looks like its gonna be a great two years. I'm stoked!

Onto the new games.

Warhawk (PS3)

I've always like this game. A good catch for $10 on PSN, now I can play it whenever I want without having to change discs!

Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue

Finally got the sequal to DeathSpank! One of my favorite downloadable games! Only 7.49 on PSN right now. Couldn't resist the half off price tag. I'm excited to play it and post a review to let you know if it was as good, or better than the original.

Well that's it for today. I'll probably post another blog after E3's wrap up and post some screens and such of my best games of E3. See you later!

E3 Week!

So, this week is a very exciting week for all gamers, new games will be announced and other games will be shown off. The Big 3 will have their press conferences. After watching the Microsoft and Sony conferences, I have to say I'm a little upset with the content announced so far. I was expecting a lot more focus on core games from both of them.

However the PS Vita price scheme has been released and is a shocker being 250 for wifi model and 300 for 3G/wifi model. Great news, and after seeing that price, I'll definitely be getting one.

Another thing we can look forward to at E3 is the reveal of Nintendo's new console, specs, price, launch titles etc. Very exciting time for console gamers looking to take a step forward. I'm hoping Nintendo doesn't disappoint this month at E3.

I also have acquired a couple new games. Not going to include ALL of the PS Welcome Back games.

Alpha Protocol (PS3)

Haven't actually gotten it yet. It should come in the mail sometime this week. Bought it on Amazon for under $13 new wit free shipping. Any game for that is a deal. I'll definitely play it. I always found myself interested in the subject matter, and I love RPGs. We'll see how it is. Expect a review (someday.)

Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition (PS3)

This is a great racing game. I finally got around to getting it. I bought it new at Gamestop for $20. I'll progress through the game and a post a review later on.

So that's it for today, I'll be getting some more games next week, so look forward to my next blog. Everyone enjoy E3 week, Nintendo conference incoming!

Just a couple words, and a new game.

I was reading a topic earlier about xbox copying playstation, and then the retort was that actually it was PS copying xbox. All I have to rally say is, who cares who copies who. All the companies should learn from eachother to give owners of each console the best experience possible. Why should one console not get features just because the other one did it first. Are we school kids here or something. Innovation comes from learning from others and building upon that.

Anyways, new game: L.A. Noire. Got it on release, and have been playing it. Its pretty good. Very different than any other experience I've had in gaming. I'm on the Vice Desk. On the first case on the desk. Expect a review when I finish it.

Won't be getting any new games for awhile. I need to save up for a new HDTV.

People these days!

So anyways today I checked my messages on here and saw that someone tagged me in a comment saying

"This coming from a dude with a Killzone icon! oh yeah! KillZone 3 SUX!!! GO GEARS OF WAR 3! GO!"

I guess I'm about to make a short rant, so be prepared I guess. I would have posted back but the page won't load up. But I suspect it was in response to a comment I left on the "Most anticipated games of E3" article I posted. Where I basically said I don't think Gears of War is as strong of a franchise it once was and has lost a lot of its excitement (worded differently, I'm sure)

Well first of all, I don't see why my icon, or my like for KZ has anything to do with my opinion of Gears. I don't see what relevance that has at all.

Second of all, KZ3 isn't a bad game at all, actually its a very enjoyable shooter with an intense campaign and very fun MP. Wonder if he ever played it, or if he just saw the 8.5 review score and said "SEEE!!! KZ SUX CUZ IT ISNT AAA"

Anyways, now that I'm past that rant I have other news. New Games! I've gotten a few since my last blog so get ready!

Nier (PS3)

My gf got me this for my birthday. The people at Gamestop tried to convince me not to buy it. Glad I didn't listen to them, this game is amazing. I've enjoyed every moment of it. I've already beaten it twice and I plan on seeing all of the endings before writing my review for it.

Assassin's Creed (PS3)

After playing (And thoroughly enjoying) AC2 I decided I'd pick up the first game and play it before moving on to Brotherhood. Well I played it for a few hours, and I have to say, that the jump in quality from AC to AC 2 is astounding. Really I wish I had played this game first, because its hard to appreciate it when I've already beaten its vastly superior sequel. I'll still play through it and post a review (And it will be based on this game alone and not on the standards set by the sequel)

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Really excited to start this game and advance into Ezio's story, but I'm going to take the time to complete the original first. Hopefully I'll all both games finished before Revelations is released.

Mass Effect (PC)

I've beaten this game about 4 times on 360, but I don't have one of those anymore. And the Steam sale was just way too good to pass up. So now I guess I'll be playing through it again, only on PC this time.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (PC)

I already spent about 40 hours with the online on PS3, but don't own it anymore. Again, the Steam sale was just too good to pass up. Unfortunately, my laptop doesn't have the power to play it, even on the lowest settings (Maybe if the game gave you the option to use low resoultions.) But at least when I get around to upgrading I'll have it already.

Medal of Honor: Airborne (PC)

Yet another game that I couldn't pass up because of the sale. 2.50 is a great price! This game is actually pretty good on PC, alot better than its console counterparts.

Dragon Age 2 (PS3)

With DA:O, I mentioned that I couldn't imagine playing it on anything other than PC, because the controls felt perfect for PC and flawed for consoles. While this game probably still plays well on PC, I really feel like the game is geared towards consoles and feels right on a controller. I'll begin playing this once I get around to beating DA:O. Then I'll post a proper review of the game.

Two Worlds 2 (PS3)

I haven't even found the time to pop this one into my PS3 yet, so I really have nothing I can say about it yet besides it looks exciting, and I'm sure I'm gonna love it. Expect a review at some point.

Well that's it for now I suppose. I'll be writing another blog tomorrow, as I'll have LA Noire and maybe a couple of other games.
