Okay, all my previous ranting still holds. Best Buy really needs to get their system up to 21st Century standards. There is no excuse for the fact that their various departments don't talk to one another, nor for the many hoops that one has to jump through to get them to honor their service plans.
That said, their employees are, occasionally, awesome.
One of the many, many people I spoke to during this ordeal was an employee named Larry who worked in the Magnolia Home Theater department of the Tyson's Corner Best Buy. He seemed to take a personal interest in my situation and spent most of Tuesday afternoon running from department to department, talking to managers, and calling customer service to help me resolve it. I finally brought the TV in myself (it's ridiculously expensive to have them pick it up) and Larry got everything coordinated for me, led me right to the people I needed to talk to, and we got everything done in about an hour. I now am the proud owner of a Samsung 32" Flat-Panel LCD HDTV (LNT-3253H ) and I could not be happier. Gods, this TV is a thing of beauty. :)
There is just not that much that I can do to repay this sort of dedication (Best Buy employees don't get comission) so I can just say that this guy gets my personal endorsement. If you happen to live in the Northern Virginia area, talk to Larry in the Tyson's Best Buy if you plan on buying any home theater equipment. He'll steer you right.
As you can probably tell by the fact that it took me a week to blog about it, I'm still insanely busy with all the other things mentioned in the previous blog. So if I don't reply to personal PMs, it's just because I'm so bogged down taking care of all my other responsibilities.
I do still intend to blog about the wedding and honeymoon, but that's going to have to be another time. Take care, all!
Hurdy gur,
