Coming next year and beyond, these are the games I've keenly got my eyes on.
PC You just know that DICE is going to do this justice, and EA is behind them throwing enough money at this project that you can almost guarantee this will be the most vivid Star Wars experience ever created.
PS4 I never played the previous games but it looks like this entry will finally get that holy grail of mechanics across all departments to provide an end-to-end epic fantasy RPG experience. Once again, it's the combat which really attracts me!
PC A sequel to the simplest yet most fun zombie shooter ever created? How can I say no! The original KF absolutely nailed basic co-op survival horror mechanics in an arena setting with plenty of extra trimmings to elevate it to something much more. Great feeling guns? Slow-mo and gory explosions? What's not to love?
PS4 What's selling this game for me is the solid looking and satisfying hack 'n slash combat. A lot of 3rd person action games overlook such core mechanics, but this game certainly looks to be on the right track. With an excellent IP behind it and intriguing overarching game mechanics, this game is sure looking like a good time.
PC How could this not be on anyone's list?? The guys at Valve simply know how to make their guns truly pop and fun to use - and I think every FPS developer should take notice. You only have to play Half-Life 2 and compare it to the latest Call of Duty to see precisely what I mean. I have no doubt it's being developed; what I do doubt is whether it's going to see the light of day in the next 5 years.
