system shock 2 (1999), deus ex (2000). They might have been released before 2000 but you should still play them.

System Shock 2 and Deus Ex are probably the best out there. Deus Ex is longer and has a great story while SS2 has a good story but AMAZING atmosphere and gameplay.

youre probably the kind of people that dont matter low fps, or cant tell the difference between 25fps and 45 fps. If 22fps is smooth for you, then great, but for most people anything below 30 fps is not considered smooth.

When was the last time you defragged your hard drive? It might also be the drivers, try rolling back to previous versions and see if that helps. Older drivers for oder games often work better (Just spent 6 hours trying to get SS2 to work properly, installed the ol 163.44 drivers and now it works!).

Pretty much every house has a pc right? If you want to play pc games, just add in a good video card (8800gt is like $250 or something) and maybe a better processor if needed. That will get you a nice gaming pc more powerful than a console at around the same price.

Console games sales are bigger because most 10-15 years old kids buy consoles instead of a pc, because they have no clue how PCs work. They would buy a prebuilt computer from something like dell or alienware, but thats too expensive, and since they dont have feel like learning something new for once and try to build a custom pc on their own, they just go for the easier choice : buy a console. I dont have the numbers, but from what i can remember the average age of a pc gamer is much higher than the one of console gamers.
