I suppose I might give the witcher a try. couly
the witcher is truly a gem. It defies pretty much all the recent gaming rules : short, focus on good graphics and multiplayer (or mmo for rpgs), multiplatform, neglect story. The witcher has an engaging, long lasting single player, "good" graphics and brings something fresh to the rpg genre with the new action oriented fighting system. If only it didnt have these minor technical flaws ( wich for me are a huge bummer, because it runs like crap on my mid-high end system ). Fortunately, cdprojekt are working hard to release patches as quicly as possible.

Is it the same process as installing display drivers? Just uninstall every nvidia driver except the display one and install everything after reboot. Thanks in advance.

WHy do people keep buying off Steam?? If there is a thread or post about Steam it is a negative one, all you ever hear is problems. There are other alternatives to that piece of crap.vfibsux
lol of course, people dont make threads when everything is fine. They come here and make a topic when something is wrong, but if you made a poll and asked "have you had a good experience with steam", alot of people would say yes. On topic now, preordering or preloading games from steam isnt all that great, especially when they are not from valve, so i suggest you always wait a little while before downloading a freshly released game.

While I personally don't bother with uninstalling drivers before installing new ones, that's simply becuase I'm lazy.

Frankly, I'm not sure if you'd need to use something like driver cleaner pro, uninstalling the driver and installing the new one should do the trick.

Do you mean as in it's feeling slower?

You should try a defrag, and have a look at the stickied thread on how to improve your performance.

i defrag once a week or when i install new programs, and i dont have any spyware or viruses. The only problem i really encounter is that i dont think my computer performs as good as it should in a couple of games, most notably the witcher. Its all fps wise. So i was wondering if it my have had something with old drivers not being completely removed after uninstall.

When uninstalling video drivers, is it really essentiel to run lets say driver cleaner pro to completely remove the old registry? I have never really used it, i always just uninstall and reinstall. But i dont think my computer is performing at its maximum recently, and its not because of spyware/virus. Do you guys think it might be related to my old drivers not being completely removed? Thanks in advance.

what happens with non-linear, open world games is that they are often unpolished, unfinished, rough around the edges, because there is too much stuff to work on when making a game where youre free to go where you want. Stalker is the best example. But, i find myself enjoying more polished linear FPSes like the half life series and such. I prefer quality over open world.

Its pretty much always the same for any game that comes out. People are bound to experience issues. People who arent having any problems wont come here and talk about, all you hear of is people who cant run the game properly. Thats why it always seems like everyone is having problems. So i really doubt 50% of the people who bought gears for the pc are having issues.
