The Wii is the worst NINTENDO console. A console just to make big N a quick buck before the industry flops.
The video game industry isn't going to flop anytime soon. Besides when I have a bunch of non gamers come over to a party or something they mostly gravitate towards the Wii.So NON-GAMERS are more important than gamers now?
The Wii is there to make N as much money as it can before the industry flops. Look at all the big corporations (atari for example, every quarter they release their financial statement saying they lost 10+m)...their doubting their exsistance for the future.
Development costs are through the roof...Last gen we got 3 final fantasies, this gen we'll be lucky if we get FFXIII and vs. XIII by the end of 2009.
This industry will not dissapear, but in a few years will be very small...and games will all be like Ninjabread Man and Crusin'...and the sheep will love it.
And we're are technincally getting three different FF13 games all at once. Not to mention several new IPs for Square, so I'm sure they acknowledge the fact that the gaming industry is the fastest growing entertainment medium in the world and that remaining in it will only turn out more profits.
The Wii is in this industry to make money -- no sh**. Everyone is. Maybe for some reason you thought the gaming industry existed purely to give you great games at lower prices -- but it's always been about money.
You say they are just making money so they can pull out, but that makes no sense -- as they are having one of the most profitable years they have ever had -- which only ensures dominance in the future.
Nintendo got non-gamers to buy games -- thus they made the market bigger and are making more profit.
Saying the industry is dying is a downright dumb statement to make.

How is it dumb? How many new games that don't follow the FPS formula do you see? LBP, AFRIKA, Viva Pinata, and a few others..
Development costs are skyrocketing (especially on the PS3/360)...on the Wii they are low because the Wii sucks spec wise, on the PS3/360 developers actually have to make games look good to sell them, on the Wii we see games like Cruisin', Ninjabread Man, and other abominations that could be created on a budget of less then $100,000.
The Wii is trying to get N, as much money as possible right now, so when the industry dies down (becomes a lot smaller), Nintendo will have excess money and last out longer.
Look at all the developers cutting corners, releasing dlc and charging for it the day the game is released, creating LE for games, etc.
