I will soon start buying some PS2 games (yeah, I bought a PS2) and I live in aPAL region. I know that games will run a little slower, but that doesn't bother me. From what I've seen at others, there are a few games that are actually very annoyngly slow.,butmost of themrun pretty good ( even if NTSC counterparts will be fasters and smoother).

I am however curios if it's the same problem with the sound. I didn't spend much time with PS2 PAL games, and those that I had were usually shooters, so I couldn't notice if it sounds different too. But I want to buy Burnout Revenge, and I am curios if the soundtrack will also be slower. Music is quite important for this game, and running slower would be a bummer.

So, does anyone know if the sound is also slowed down, or if the conversion doesn't affect it?

I am gonna buya PS2 and I want to connect it to my monitor. I will mod the console, so it will play NTSC games (they are superior to PAL anyway), but there are still some things that bug me.

First, I will connect it to my monitor with a VGA to RCA adapter ( my monitor has speakers inside). All I am gonna play are NTSC games, however, I am not sure how the menu of the system will be displayed. I mean, If I will go to options on the PS2, will that be displayed in PAL or NTSC? Also, will my monitor give me an out of frequency error when this will hapen?

And secondly, If I will put games like Ico and Tekken 5, that have a 60 Hz selector, will I be able to see the selection screen, or will it be displayed in 50 HZ? Will the VGA to RCA adapter send a 60 HZ anyway? I am not interested if the image is bad or slow, since I am gonna play them in NTSC anyway. I just want to know if I will have access at all or the monitor won't display it.

This is what I want to know, if someone can help me.

Ok guys I'll buy it, thx for replys. It is a good deal (new ps2 + 3 unopened games) at 60$ and I already found some cheap games that interest me to buy at a later time.

The Xbox 360 will of course be my main gaming platform( obviously, since it's a generation newer) but considering how cheap the ps2 and it's games are, I don't think I can go worng with one.

I saw at a store a new PS2 slim, and if I buy it, it will come bundled woth these 3 games:God of War, God of War 2 and Tekken 5. It is pretty cheap and none of them are opened. Do you think it's worth buyng a PS2 to play these games? I have an Xbox 360 for current gen gaming, so I won't really be buiymg games for the PS2 in the future(they are pretty hard to find anyway).

Ps2 Slim + those games, come at 60$. Do you think it's worth it?

I`m not exactly sure what you mean by jagged, but those games look good on my PSP, so I guess yeah, they do look better on a small screen. Just to be on the safe side, you might want to go to a store where you can try out the PSP for yourself.

Ventara

By jagged I mean like those lines that appear on sharp edges, like when you play a game on PC in low resolution, kinda like that.I was wondering if they are as visible on the small screen like when I watch gameplay on youtube from my PC.

I was thinking to buy a PSP, since it's relatively cheap now, and I was wondering if the games look as jaggied on the PSP screen as they look on the internet when viewed from my monitor.Like Peace Walker ot Tekken 6 or whatever. Do they look better on the small screen?

I started collecting old gaming sistems and games for them, and I decided to start with ps1.I bought the console and 3 games: Chrono Cross, Crash Bandicoot 3 and Delta Force-Urban Warfare.

Can you recommend some games besides these that I should add to my collection?

My list is like this:

PC: Diablo 3, The Witcher 2, Dawn of War 2-Retribution;

XBOX 360: Gears of War 2, Xcom remake;

PS3: Killzone 3, Infamous 2, Twisted Metal;

There are also more multiplats then I can count. 2011 seems to be a good year for gaming on all systems.

I just don't understand why some titles that are labeled as xbox 360 exclusives come to PC.Like Splinter Cell:Conviction or the announced Xcom remake.Or MassEffect 2(although that comes to PS3 soon).I know that people complain that Xbox 360 doesn't have as many exclusives as it once had.Then why doesn't Microsoft secure those titles as Xbox 360 only.
If they already don't come to PS3,then it should be easy.After all,PC sales, while probably decent, aren't strong enough to actually make the game on PC a must.

I want to buy an MP4 player(or whatever it's called),but I want to know if videos at higher resolution will run,or I need the exact resolution. For example,the player says it runs MP4,WMV and AVI.Does this mean that I can run any AVI and it will just downscale it to 320x240, or do I really need to find that resolution?
