I think Borderlands 1 and 2 have split screen, and they are AWEsome.CodingGenius

but I'm not interested in co-op. Aren't these "co-op" games? I'm looking for split screen competitive offline games...

I think Black Ops II may be a possibility

I'm intrested in finding a game I can play split screen with a friend who'll be visiting. Genre doesn't matter. Just one that is really fun.

Trying to do a search, its seems to only come up with split screen CO-OP games. I'm looking for a game that pits you against your friend with another controller on the same console.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I've been playing TF2 for almost 3 years now and it only gets better. I usually get tired of games easily but not TF2. I think its the most fun game I've ever played and I've been playing vid games for over 30 years. The game changes nightly depending on the mix of players. There is always new strategies to try. Amazing really. No other game compares in depth of interactivity imo.

I'll have to agree with you. I could never get into the Halflife games...I played through most of HL2 and when I got later on in the game, I just said to myself "this is the game that everyone praises?" ...I just don't get it. Same this goes with TF2...I played it for a bit, but it just wasn't fun at all...not my idea of quality anyways. I'll take the Unreal series, Battlefield, Starsiege: Tribes, or Call of Duty 4 over TF2 anyday.

Darth_Kane

Finally someone!!

I agree too

I didn't like HL because there wasn't a good story (few FPSs do and don't play many FPSs 'cos of that)

However, Portal was awesome

that's exactly the point. you can't just play it for a bit and judge. Lets just cut through all the crap. TF2 is in a class by itself and without any doubt the best multiplayer game ever made. So don't even wonder any more...

RE5 is the first game to pull me away from Team Fortress 2 for the last almost 2 years. My favorite games of all time have been RE4, shadow of the colossus and TF2. RE5 scares me plenty. Though I love theexperienceof playing the game, I don't like the buffed up mainstreaming of the content. I feel its gradually becoming homogenous and trendy. What's up with Chris's rigor mortised constantly flexed arms WTH! I hope they take a step "back" in that regard or try to find a more creative angle for RE6 while maintaing the amazing sense of doom. RE5 definately still scares me. Istilllove strategizing how to get through the hordes. I also love taking the time to look around and just appreciate the efforts made to create real visually beautiful spaces. I just got RE4 again (ps2 this time, first time on gamecube) to play again after this.

Can anyone comment on the series before RE4? I started with RE4 and have the impression it would be a letdown to go back to earlier versions. I'm really curious about RE2... ?
