I'm not sure how that would make me un-American in the first place, but yes I live in the U.S. if that's what you meant.

Yeah, after posting this I did a bunch more research and realized there's no such thing as a Component to DVI-D (which is the only DVI option my monitor has). I was just about to lose hope though, when I found out they actually make VGA cables for the 360. Then I did a little more reasearch and learned that VGA can, in fact, display HD resolutions. Then whole reason I hadn't considered VGA in the first place is because I thought the quality would be low. So now I have found my solution, haha. The greater part is, I can easily switch between my PC and 360 input, and I have a great sound system plugged in here. Anyway, thank you very much for the help!

So, I am completely sick of playing my 360 games in standard definition. I can't afford to buy an HDTV or a newer Xbox with HDMI out. So instead I thought of a solution , but I'm not sure if it will work. My plan is to buy these three things: The component cables for my 360, a component coupler, and a component to DVI converter

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Component-HD-AV-Cable/dp/B000B6MLPU/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1377386609&sr=1-1&keywords=Xbox+360+Component+HD+AV+Cable

Then I will be able to plug it into my computer monitor, which is more than capable of HD. I'm just not completely sure if it will work, and I don't want to buy a bunch of things I am never going to use. Can anyone tell me for sure if this is a viable solution?

By the way, sorry about the lack of proper links. They don't work on Firefox for some reason.

I have a few games that I've been needing to get resurfaced for a while. Now I finally have the money, but the GameCrazy that was near my house no longer exists. And I read online that the company is going out of business, and all of their stores will eventually be closing. I really want to get these disc fixed, but I have no idea where to go. I already asked to people at Gamestop, and they said they don't do it. Anyone know a place I can go that won't over charge me?

Ah. Thank you very much. I kinda had a feeling about those, I just wasn't sure. I least they aren't some crappy games.

Well I just want to see if I can get it to work. It's kind of an experiment. So... yeah. And I figured Half-Life 1 might look a little bit better at that res.

I want to know if it's at all possible to get any games to run in 320x240 (Windowed). I've tried doing it with Portal already, and I can get it to go in that resolution but it crashes right before the main menu loads. I don't know why. I've also tried it with the original Half-Life, and I couldn't get it lower than 640x480. It may be weird that I'm trying to do this, but I just want to know if it's possible. My computer can certainly run any source game on max resolution, and other games on fairly high resolutions.
