I've been in the gaming scene for a long time. I just logged on for the first time today in a while, and as you can see - I haven't changed my avatar or sig at all from back in my Game Spot days. I was a huge Nintendo fanboy, and looking back at it this fact in my life, I'm ashamed. I can't believe I was like that towards a company. fanboys still exist apparently, and not just the Nintendo kind. MS, Sony, PC alike are equally as bad. I don't get it, why are we bashing each other?
Throughout my years of video game experience, I've grown up. When you've been gaming as long as I have, you realize – why can't we all like the finer aspects of gaming and not focusing on the bad points. It's stupid, childish, and most of all – can you even call yourself a gamer when you display hatred towards a game? Little Big Planet was originally going to the Wii but it was announced and released for PS3. Would you rather play the game on the less powerful Wii or the PS3 where the physics engine will actually work and be fun? Be happy for the game and developer, it would've been a lot less fun on the Wii and you know it. Yes, maybe you'll be dissatisfied with other games because it's a rehash or a crappy game, but move on and find something you'll have a better time with.
Giving up the hatred opened my mind up and now I feel better. Not just about gaming, but life in general. Ever since this new attitude, I feel like life is just better. I'm more social, freer, and my life is no longer dedicated to the downfall of Sony. Just give it up, love games for what they are and not for what console they come out on. It's pointless. Just because you own a 360 and a game comes out for PS3 (or vice-versa) you want, doesn't mean you have to hate it.
Before I end my post, I just want to say one thing. Maybe I can't change your mind. Maybe I can't make a difference. But let me tell you guys, I never listened to posts like this in my fanboy days. People tried to tell me, they warned me. I don't think anyone's perspective can be changed in one post, because mine didn't. It changed overtime.
Thanks for reading!
