agreed. but fact is, halo has this major hype and strong fanbase around it, so I wouldnt be surprised if halo3 got the GOTY award. atleast the editors choice award. the readers choice award will be a close call I think. but hey Its still too early to say which game will get the award with AC and mass effect on the way.

neither halo3 or COD4 are GOTY material, but thats my opinion. both are great games but they are just FPS's. IMO GOTY games have the best mix of graphics,gameplay,story etc. thats why I voted for gears last year (story was crap but gameplay and graphics made it a great game). I think the award will go to Mass effect.

agreed. yea Cod4 and halo3 arnt GOTY material but that doesnt mean that Cod4 isnt a gr8 game but yea i think GOTY is gonna go to Mass Effect or Assassains Creed

i so dont agree. ppl dont like games because they came out a month earlier. halo 3 sucks period. it was a total letdown and couldve been so much better. CoD 4 is so much moreinnovative than halo 3. i say if halo 3 and CoD 4 had switched realeased dates CoD 4 is stillso much better and u cant really compare Cod4 and AC cus there 2 tottally different types of games but im not h8ing on AC because i cant w8 till i get it 2morow

and to answer the question.. yes i kinda regret buying halo 3 but i just wanted to find out the end of the story and hangout with friends until CoD 4 came out

wow u take this way too seriously and just because something sells so good doesnt make it gr8, havnt u seen all the ppl who r dissapointed with halo3. ur just the same as the media, when the ps3 came out they said it was the gr8est console everjust because it sold so good but look now, alot of ppl h8 itjust like halo3

Why is it that when I saw the VGA's awards list, CoD4 was missing on SO many categories it should be in including GoTY!?!? This game is SO much better than Halo 3 that is all over the place on the list!!! It's completely ridiculous! dude i totally agree with this guy ^... hes right CoD4 is way better than halo 3...... i think the only reason ppl keep h8in other games is because thier so hyped up with halo. theyre blinded until they see the fact that bungie cheated us out by making us have so much expectations than ruining it in the end. i think CoD4 is the best FPS ive ever played and that halo 3 was a total disater

If you guys are so crotchity about it, why don't you spend thousands of dollars to make your own VGA. The world doesn't revolve around your opinions.

I know I made this topic but I have talked to TONS of people that think the same. I'm not saying halo 3 was a complete piece of junk but there are too many Halo Homers that can't realize that it's more of the same. I really wouldn't care as much if not for the fact that people keep saying how innovative the game is when there is almost nothing different! Sure they added Forge which is pretty cool but there have been PLENTY of shooters that have had weapon editors already and you even get limited in Forge in some ways. It's just funny to me.

Oh and to the person that said it would be on next years, it's on there already because they actually take games that come out up until Dec 1st I believe. So it was nominated for stuff but just a few when it should have easily been on others especially with how well it has been reviewed (higher than Halo 3 at this point....).

agree niks right.... i dont care if my opinion changes the way halo is but im gonna say what i want but halo 3 couldve been WAY better yea it had some cool stuff like the finish of a cool story line and forge but theres like 8 new weps 10 new maps and a couple new vehicles so basically i still think its just an upgraded halo2

halo 3 isnt doin that much different from its predecessor, call of duty 4 on the other hand is taking a huge turn since COD3, so call of duty will be much better than halo 3Spixter534

i agree...halo 3 is just a upgraded version of halo 2 while CoD4 is almost totally different and better than the other CoDs which makes it more inovative and "new" than halo3 besides halo 3 was such a dissapointment, i w8ed a year and a half for something that kinda sucked, and all you guys that say halo is the best because its halo have made me feel dumber just having to see, hear, and read that
