Thanks to them, i have had an enjoyable gaming experience again.
Incase you haven't already, check out Just4Yoshi's blog here before reading this one.
Done? Alright, here it is!
So, I read that, and noticed that I too was in a "long spell of not having a good time with video games" and decided that if Pokemon brought him a good time, maybe it could for me as well. So, I pulled out my game bag, dumped out all my GBA games, and looked for Emerald. No luck. I then remeber that I had lost it some time ago. So, I tried Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red. No luck, it isn't my type of game right now.
I rented NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams a few days ago, and although it is fun, I stopped playing recently due to a truly challenging boss that I've tried 17 (I counted) times to beat, but no luck, so I left that for a bit. I will be returning it today, and instead of re-renting it like I planned, I'll wait for my birthday, because I have something better for the moment.
Pokemon Pearl. I forgot that I even had this game until today, when I looked in my DS game carrier and found it. I hadn't played in awhile, due to my Action Replay ruining the experience. However, my AR was at a friends house, as I was letting them borrow it, so I decided to give it a shot.
I'm glad I did. This game is incredible. Even if you aren't a Pokemon fan, the RPG styIe of it is truly fun. Pokemon Blue for the Gameboy Color was my first Pokemon game, and my first RPG game. I've been a fan of the series ever since I bought that game.
So, after having some minor trouble wiith erasing the AR'ed save, I finally got into it and played. I managed to clock a good hour and twenty+ minutes without even realizing it. This was a truly joyful experience. I managed to catch a Bidoof, now level 5, a Starly, now level five, and a Shinx, now level five. My starter, Piplup, is level nine, and because I was training instead of progressing the story, I still have to deliver a parcel to the character's friend (who, personally, I find annoying).
So, thank you Just4Yoshi for inspiring me, and thank you Pokemon for a truly fun experience.
Yes, I am aware that this is longer than most of my blogs. Tough. :P
Also, for those of you who haven't read it already, my fanfic, which I posted the latest episode of today, is right below this blog.
