I was looking at the many shelves in various stores and it seemed like shooters were more frequent than any other genre.

Doesn't that seem a little bit mundane. I figured that of you've shot one alien, animal, demon, or human, you've basically shot 'em all (though some may be more poorly developed than others). Is it easier to shove a shooter in a gamer's face and call it a day? If so, I guess all we have to do is wait for another E.T. and Atari fiasco to happen. Yes, I like to play a shooter every now and again, but there's only so many times you can do a sci-fi/war shooter before it gets old. The 360 and PS3 are starting to seem like one-trick-ponies (shooter saturated) and most of these port games are poor excuses for titles. STEP YOUR GAME UP MS AND SONY! I like both, but shelling out $60 for something I've already played before just doesn't cut it.:roll:
