it definitely has the best feature set, but unless you're considering reballing the solder I'd be inclined to let it go - the refurbished models from sony are overpriced and unreliable - in your position I'd pick up one of the outgoing slims, as reports on the super slim are very inconsistent ;-)

is there a particular motive for the piece, or are you approaching it neutrally?

bearing in mind the official warranty position has already been posted where are you getting your information from, and why do you think it's possible to change the hard drive without removing the warranty sticker, and why would sony sell an official caddy which negates your warranty?????

I don't agree although request email confirmation from sony if unsure, and read this re dimension changes http://uk.gamespot.com/features/how-to-change-the-new-super-slim-ps3-hard-drive-6396942/

and check the dimension requirements for the drive as one of the dimensions has changed from recollection, although there's no need to format in advance to FAT32 as the PS3 does this automatically ;-)

bear in mind the 12gb model really needs a separate caddy in addition to any increased hard drive, and sony wouldn't indirectly encourage you to void your warranty via an official add on

I 'd be inclined to back up anything important, preferably via cloud storage if you have playstation plus. Back up and restore probably isn't the better option as the restore will be tied to your 80gb model, so use an external drive/flash drive for individual transfer of data (copy protected saves excluded here). Mine died permanently one week after it first happened just to give you a possible indication of timescale.....

metal gear solid 4 blew me away, but Uncharted 2 edges it simply as the series never existed on any prior console - whilst I loved Demon's Souls the release of Dark Souls as a multi-plat has undermined the standout nature of the original in that you don't need a PS3 to enjoy a similar experience - from here on in I'm most looking forward to Beyond: Two Souls although it may be too niche to attract a "most remembered" label...... perhaps ironically, the PS3 should be most remembered for its diversity of genres, and trying to pin everything down to just one game is exactly what we shouldn't be doing?

spartacus259, you should look into reballing which is a wholesale replacement of the solder - not always 100% effective and potentially expensive but your call
