As like most of you, we've all heard the recent rumors that the "xbox 720" will have a continued internet connection in order for games to be even playable. I in all honesty don not buy into it, as a long time xbox user I've grown to love the console, from the first time i picked up the remote and played halo: combat evolved all those years ago, to today playing bioshock and the like. Although the supposed "upgrades" to the Xbox's dashboard havent been all that fantastic and well lets face it the kinect wasnt exactly a leap in technology, I dont believe that Microsoft would be stupid enough to go the route of Simcity or Diablo 3. Although their direction in the recent years has been to try and make the Xbox the central entertainment unit in the household, even a monkey could see that the internet goes out sometimes. I think as a gaming community developers know that we're not stupid and when somethings "shit", we will say "its shit" but their are always two sides to a coin. Developers arent stupid and Microsoft being the big, successful company that it is wouldnt be in the position that it is today by making to many stupid decisions. My message to all the community right now, is to sit and wait for the announcement of the next xbox, however my message to the developers of the next generation xbox is learn from mistakes of others and capitalize on it.
