I tested both games with my ethernet unplugged. They both had offline modes and started up without an initial internet connection. Loaded an AC2 save game, works flawlessly.

I had no idea! I thought the DRM in the game still required an initial internet connection to at least start the game everytime, but there is an offline mode. I noticed this because Ubisoft's servers were down for a bit. Online now though. I was able to start the game without an initial connection.

How is Fable 3? Fable 2 was enjoyable on my Xbox 360 a few years ago. How is the original? Because it's on sale.

The game, despite what anyone says, will be a huge best-seller, even on PC. It's already second on the charts, and the previous two games are still some of the most played games on Steam right now. Both this game, and Battlefield 3 will sell like hotcakes, that's for sure.

I am playing it on a 5870, and the game is fully patched and I am using the latest drivers. I have a Phenom II x4 965 and 8gb ram. I am getting performance from 30-63 fps, and sometimes the game dips below 30. I am playing it with maxed out settings with 4xaa. Any suggestions to improve the performance of this game?

I bought Bioshock 2 and the Dreamfall pack. Will buy Assassin's Creed II tonight and that is about it for me. My tally is $11.23 so far.
