No I don't. What I menat is this. Everytime you criticise Nintendo games for being kiddy, Ninty fans say "grow up, it's not all about blood and gore. Nintendo games are all about gameplay". THEY SAY THIS AS IF YOU CAN'T FIND GAMES WITH GOOD GAMEPLAY ON THE XBOX OR THE PS2. That's what i mean about 'myth'. This great assumption that only Nintendo focus on gameplay and the rest just focus on the blood count It's not that there aren't good games on the XBox it's that the majority of them are inferior rehashes that offer nothing new. I like FPS games as much as the next guy but i want to play something else from time to time. Nintendo focus primarily on gameplay, the majority of other studios don't. Get over it.
I hate Nintendo games because they're too cutesy and I don't want to play cute and cuddly games. Say this to a Nintendo fan, however and he'll scream at you to grow up and that you should focus on the gameplay. I hate this whole Nintendo and gameplay myth. Does Halo not have good gameplay? Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory? Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic? Forza Motorsport? Ninja Gaiden? Do you know what the big difference is? As well as having outstanding gameplay mechanics, these games ALSO have mature storylines, worlds and characters. What's wrong with having both? I'm sick of Nintendo fans slagging Xbox and PlayStation 2 fans and saying that we only care about image and not gameplay. I want games that play well yes, but also ones that have mature and engaging storylines. The problem with nintendo games is that they give you ONE thing - gameplay. But they're too cutesy. If you buy an Xbox or a PlayStation 2, you can have BOTH. Gameplay AND mature stories. Case closed. There's no way that Nintendo fans can argue this point.....The_Streets
Nintendo Games have pure gameplay and many of there games are as violent and mature (if not more so) than XBox Games (see MGS, Resdient Evil 0-4, Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime etc.) Halo is NOT a good shooter, Half Life Kicks its ass. Star Wars KOTOR was good but japanese RPG's are better. Ninja Gaiden was excellent but every consoles bound to have a few decent games. No nintendo fans have ever said nintendo games are not kiddyish (especially First Party Properties), it's just that we don't care as long as we enjoy ourselves. Simply put, we're not that insecure. You may think that playing "mature games" makes you look tough but at the end of day people will just laugh at you for behaving like a child.
