Just got ProStreet

Well this game is pretty amazing so far. I think GS way under-rated it. I have only beat the first race day and haven't had time to mess around with the customization of cars or anything but as it stands this game should have at least a 7.5 if not an 8.0 so don't let GS determine if you get this game or not.

Anyway, I'll let you know more later.

Halo 3 what do u think dont be affraid to tell me

Hello all, here is another blog post by Blaze. This time the subject is Halo and it getting 9.5. I will admit I shunned Halo 2 and its single player when it came out due to it not being as great as Halo:CE in my opinion. Well, after replaying Halo 2, I can see that Halo is the prime example of the FPS for the console. I will go into detail into each game.

Halo:Combat Evolvedcame out with the original Xbox. It looked horrible at E3 and almost had no hype behind it. So what happened to this game? Bungie pulled a miracle and make this game the best FPS to come to consolesto date. The reason why? It is due to the experience.

Even though the landscapes repeated themselves, you felt like Master Chief. You were the single force against the aliens known as covenant and the legendary weapon known as Halo. The voice acting and characters react with you, making you feel you are the character. The weapon variety from the every handy pistol to the covenant needlers. Many had its strengths or weaknesses, which made up a good variety. The multiplayer is also as fun as single player. The feeling of sniping a person on top of a landscape felt so good. It brought the experience of Unreal to the console people that could not afford a gaming. Alot of gamers loved this game for a good single player and a great multiplayer. There is little reason to doubt the game's score of a 9.7 in Gamespot.

Halo 2 came out in 2004, 3 years after the original. Master Chief has to go to earth to fight off the covenants and the three prophets: Truth, Mercy, and Regret. Youalso play as an Elite, also known as Arbiter, who is a servant for the prophets. He starts to learn that the prophets are not his true allies throughout the story.

Halo 2 was mixed up in views. The single player had an ending which alot of people hated. This turned off many gamers from this sequel. Some also considered the single player in general too stretch out and lacking of a hard hitting plot. One part of the game that people can't argue about is the multiplayer.

The multiplayer offered what gamers wanted all along: online. The online play allowed people to fight against strangers all around the world. It also allowed you to play as the covenant, which made it interesting to fight the enemy in multiplayer also. You could earn medals on various tasks you do, which added alot of replay value. The new weapons were seen as a good thing. The covenant weapons such as Carbine made the weapon variety more, along with the melee weapon the Energy Sword. Some weapons got weaken such as pistol. This has been made up allowing you to dual wield your weapon. The only downside about this is that you can't throw grenades while you do this. The vehicles such as ghost also added in variety to Halo 2. Halo 2 was the definite multiplayer experience on a console. This is why Gamespot gave it 9.4.

PC Ports

Halo:CE had a port also released around the end of 2003. It offered many exclusive options such as online play. Since this was before Halo 2, many people loved the PC version and call it the complete version.

Halo 2 also came to PC in May 2007 exclusive to Vista. While the game is great, it felt outdated due to nothing really being added besides Games for Window content. There was also issues with how it responded with the 360 controller. You pushed A and it would sometimes shoot your gun.

This Tuesday, the final Halo will be released. Many people where hyped, many people who were disappointed by Halo 2 were not sure. So does Bungie do to make you want Halo 3? Say that they were disappointed with Halo 2? Was it a smart tactic? Yes, it was. Although Bungie really did seem disappointed and seek to make their best game yet.

They brought many changes. Weapons? Spartan laser and Brute hammer. Vehicles? Hornet and Brute Chopper. MP changes? New helmets and medals. They also brought new thing called equipment. Equipment ranges from a bubble shield that protects you from harm to a trap mine that can blow up vehicles if they run over him.

What else new did they bring? Well, they brought a whole new mode called FORGE. FORGE is the ultimate user level maker. You can delete, buy stuff and drop it, and many another things you would expect. The twist though is that you are a monitor like guilty spark. So you can do this while fighting each other. You can expect many vehicle droppings to occur.

Also a new section is video mode. You can go back to your level and mess around the angles. Accessible on all modes, single player or multiplayer, you can move, bend, and twist the camera any way you want it. You can even upload your videos if you are a gold member. You can buy a Bungie membership that allows you more space if you are big on it. The only problem is that you can not mix it with other levels, only one run of a level or match.

You can also play with a buddy online. This time instead of 2 players, you can play as 4.You can gather though a lobby and play though missions. Each mission has points based on certain skills. Melees count more thangun shots. A brute counts more than a grunt. This allows for great multiplayer for people who hate going against each other.

The story has been amped up also due to many critics loving it. I happened to see the ending which in my opinion is better than the Halo 2 one. I even like the hidden ending which I won't say how to get. I am looking forward to playing this one. As a Halo:CE lover, I want to play this one badly. I can see why Gamespot gave it 9.5.

Future of Halo?

Halo is not quite over yet. With an announcement of a spin-off, Halo seems to still be alive in spirit. One notable game is Halo Wars.

Halo Wars is a game coming in 2008 that is a RTS based around the Halo universe. UNSC goes against the Covenant in this game set for 2008 release. Ensemble Studios, a maker of many famous RTS, is in charge of this game. Halo Wars will be an interesting game due to it being an RTS built ground up for the console rather than porting a PC game.

Media Impact

Halo has not only been on consoles, rather it hasbeen in many other sources. Take Halo: Fall of Reach, the first book of the Halo franchise. This one takes place before the events of Halo and explains more about the masked hero. We learn his name is John and he was a human built up for war. Halo:The Flood is a novelization of the famous Halo:CE. While not much new info is revealed, the book sales very well among Halo fans. Another book comes out called Halo:First Strike. This is based between the events of Halo:CE and Halo 2. Afourth book, planned for 2008, is called Halo:Contact Harvest. It is based on the young life of Sergeant Johnson.

A comic book made by Marvel also came out recently. It is called Halo: Uprising. These four books take place between Halo 2 and Halo 3. The art resembles most of the grimmer comic books out there. The second issue comes out in October.

With the release of Halo 3, many sources took hold. G4 is hosting a Halo 3 countdown Monday. Mountain Dew marketed a new drink called gamer fuel. Many stores, such as Walmart and EB Games, are holding midnight launch parties for Halo 3. EB even marketed a campaign for pre-ordering Halo 3 called "Goodbye Halo 2". There is even three editions of the game: normal (just the game at 60 dollars), limited (bonus material for 70 bucks), and legendary (bonus material + cool helmet) priced at 130 dollars.

Will more spinoffs happen? Who can be sure to say. One thing is clear though, Halo is no doubt the FPS image of the console. All games have been received highly and many people are hyping Halo 3. Even though you hate Halo, you can not doubt Halo had an impact among all gamers: casual or hardcore.
